theEmeraldICEFlashVoiceMailSystemanditsrelatedcomponents.

Basic Operation

TheEmeraldICEFlashVoiceMailSystem,initsdefaultconfiguration,isaneightport

systemwiththreehoursofvoicestoragethatcanprocesseightdifferentcallersatthe

sametime.Anadditionalthreehoursofrecordingtimecanbeaddedwiththe

additionoftheoptionallyavailableexpansionmodule. Thecallerscanbeany

combinationofoutsideorinsidecallers. Aseachcallerfinishestheircall,theportis

madeavailableforthenextcallerallowingalargenumberofuserscanbesupported

withtheEmeraldICEFlashVoiceMailSystem.

TheEmeraldICEFlashVoiceMailSystemusesSingleDigitCommands,eliminating

theneedtomemorizelongkeysequences. Oncetheuserisfamiliarwiththe

system,theywillbeabletodialaheadbyknowingthecorrectcommands.

Allmailboxescanbeaccessedfromanytelephoneanywhereintheworldaslongastouchtonedialingisavailable. Allmailboxfunctionsaresecuredbyapassword

whichtheuserprovideswhenenteringtheirmailbox.Thepasswordguarantees

thatmailboxcommunicationsareprivateandsecure.

inimprovedcustomersatisfactionwiththeEmeraldICEFlashVoiceMailSystem.

Takingafewmomentsinitiallytosecurethenecessaryequipment,programming

information,andmanpowerrequirementswillstreamlinetheinstallation,aswellas

enhancethecustomersperceptionofhowthenewsystemwillworkforthem.

Inordertoproperlysetupthesystem,youshouldmakesurethatthefollowing

itemsareavailablebeforestartingtheinitialsetup:

TheEmeraldICEFlashVoiceMailSystemcircuitboardsarestaticsensitive. They

shouldbehandledbytheedgesonlyandkeptintheantistaticpackagingbagsuntil

readyforinstallation. Donotsubjectanycomponentpartstostaticdischargeorphysicalmishandling.Whenhandlingcircuitboards,itisadvisabletouseananti

staticwriststrapandcovertheworksurfacewiththeantistaticbagusedtoshipthe

board. Staticchargesshouldbedischargedfromthebodybeforetouchingthe

boardsorcomponentsbytouchingthegroundedmetalcaseofthesystempower

supplyunitorcoldwatergroundconnectionifavailable.Theproductwarrantyfor

thisequipmentdoesnotcoverdamagecausedbysuchdescribedstaticdischargesor

mishandling. Anymodulesorcomponentsdeterminedtohavebeendamagedin

suchamannerwillonlybereplacedatdealercost.

itfromoverheating.Theseopeningsmustnotbeblockedorcovered,especially

thewiringopeningonthebottomoftheunit. TheEmeraldICEFlashVoiceMail

Systemcardshouldneverbeplacednearoroveranytypeofheatingradiatoror

heatregister.Inaddition,EmeraldICEFlashVoiceMailSystemcardshouldnotbe

installedinanenclosedcabinetunlessproperventilationisprovided.

Warranty Limitations

Theproductwarrantyislimitedtoreplacementofdefectivecomponentsanddoes

notcoverinjurytopersonsorpropertyorotherconsequentialdamages.

FCC Regulations

This

equipment

has

been

tested

by

an

independent

testing

lab

and

found

to

comply

withthelimitsforaClassAdigitaldevice,pursuanttopart15oftheFCCRulesas

reproducedbelow:

Theselimitsaredesignedtoprovidereasonableprotectionagainstharmful

modelnumber,FCCassignedregistrationnumberandringerequivalence

informationmustalsobefurnished. Theringerequivalence(REN)isusedto

determinehowmanydevicescanbeconnectedtoatelephoneline. Inmostareas,

thesumofRENsofalldevicesononelineshouldnotexceedfive. Iftoomany

devicesareattached,theymaynotringproperly. Shouldtherebeanyquestionsthat

thecustomer providedequipmentmaycauseharmtothetelephonenetwork,the

localoperatingcompanyisrequiredtonotifythecustomerofanimpending

temporaryinterruption

of

service.

customer

must

be

given

the

opportunity

to

correcttheexistingproblem,ifpossible.

Thetelephonecompanymustalsoadvisecustomersoftheirrightsforfiling

complaintsbeforetheFCC. Thetelephonecompanymaymakechangesinits

technicaloperationsandprocedures. Ifsuchchangesaffectthecompatibilityoruse

ofthissystem,thetelephonecompanyisrequiredtogiveadequatenoticeofthe

changes. Undernocircumstancesistheequipmenttobealteredormodifiedwithout
