One afternoon, an old man walked into a restaurant. He was wearing a white T-shirt, a

pair of baggy trousers and a pair of flip-flops. A waiter immediately stopped him as he was

walking towards a table.

“What do you want?” the waiter asked loudly.

“I want to have my lunch,” replied the old man calmly.

“I think you’ve come to the wrong place,” said the waiter.

“Do you know who I am?” asked the old man.

“I don’t care who you are. We only welcome well-dressed customers,” answered the

unreasonable waiter.

Just then, the head waiter walked by and saw the old man.

“Oh, Mr. Loy, it’s you. Good afternoon. Have you come for lunch?” the head waiter

greeted him warmly.

“Yes, but this young man doesn’t welcome me here,” said Mr. Loy.

“Please excuse him, Mr. Loy. He’s new here. Let me show you to your table.” The head

waiter said as he led the old man to a special room in the restaurant.

The young waiter asked another waiter in a whisper, “Who is he?”

“He’s the one who pays your salary,” the reply came.
