Khan was born on 2 November 1965 in New Delhi, India. He married Gauri Khan on 25 October 1991. They have three children, son Aryan Khan, son AbRam and daughter Suhana. Sharukh Khan started out his career by appearing in several television serials during 1988-1990. He made his film debut with the commercially successful Deewana (1992). He began to achieve success at the box office from his villainous roles in films such as Darr (1993), Baazigar (1993), and Anjaam (1994). During his years in the Indian film industry, he won eight Filmfare best actor awards, which is highest by any actor and had significant box-office success. Some of his films include Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Om Shanti Om (2007), and Chakde! India (2007). As of 2015, Sharukh Khan is co-chairman of the motion picture production company Red Chillies Entertainment and its subsidiaries, and is the co-owner of the Indian Premier League cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders. He is a frequent television presenter and stage show performer. The media often label him as "Brand SRK" because of his many endorsement and entrepreneurship ventures.

Sharukh Khan is one of the most decorated Bollywood actors. He has received 14 Filmfare Awards from 30 nominations and special awards,  including eight for Best Actor; he is tied for the most in the category with Dilip Kumar. Sharukh Khan has won the Filmfare Best Actor award for Baazigar (1993), Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Devdas (2002), Swades (2004), Chak De! India (2007) and My Name Is Khan (2010). At times, he has garnered as many as three of the five total Filmfare Best Actor nominations. Although he has never won a National Film Award,  he was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2005. The Government of France has awarded him both the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (2007), and its highest civilian honour, the Légion d'honneur (2014).

Sharukh Khan isn’t called the most bankable actor in Bollywood for nothing. The actor has numbers and awards to back the claim. Along with Bollywood legend Dilip Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan is the only other actor to have won eight Filmfare awards, making him the undisputed top actor in the industry. Khan also holds the record for the highest number of Best Actor nominations in a single year.

Khan has written an article whose title is being a Khan for the magazine with name Outlook turning points. In his article Shahrukh exposed the real face of the so-called secular face of world largest democracy: Indian by explaining their agony behavior to him as a Muslim. He actually in his article talked about the attitude that he is facing as a Muslim despite that he is a big star and has a number of fans not in India but worldwide as well. In his article he said after 9/11 incident most of the political leaders in Indian are asking him to go back to his native homeland: Pakistan. In his article he said sometimes he become the inadvertent object of political leaders who choose to make him a symbol of all that they think is wrong and unpatriotic about Muslims in India. Further he said that that there have been occasions when he have been accused of bearing allegiance to our neighboring nation (Pakistan) rather than his own country- this event though he is Indian whose father fought for the freedom of Indian. There have been Rallies held where leaders have exhorted him to leave and return what they refer to my original homeland or birthplace. He said, he gave his son and daughter names that could pass for generic ones-Aryan and Shauna.

No matter how much successful you are and how much busy you are, the first ever priority for anyone should be his/her family. Family is the only thread which makes you strong and is the only unit which supports you most at your worst period.

Dear Sharukh sir,

        I hope this letter finds you well. I am a 23-year-old university student bacheloring in Business Adminstration from Bahria University Islamabad, and I just wanted to say what a big fan I am of your work. I’m looking forward to watch your newest movie when it comes out.        Your movie, Chak De got me through one of the toughest break-ups I’ve ever had, and I want to thank you for sharing that story with us. In some ways, I relate to both Raj and the Harjit in the story. Like Raj, I feel that my life can be summed up by the music I listen to. It is such an important part of life that I feel that it is in the very air we breathe. Sometimes, music creates avenues for us to explore our feelings and to voice out whatever internal pains we may have. Thank you for capturing what I already knew in such an eloquent manner.        Recently, I have watched Dilwale, and it’s amazing so far. I love the connection to music connection once again. One of my fears is the possibility of my future being similar to the varun dhawan. I admit, I haven’t watched the end yet, but your dead relationship Kajol strikes fear into my heart. I don’t want to end up like that. Only time will tell, I suppose, but I hope that in the end, Kajol will get the love that she deserves. I’m sure it will have a fantastic ending.         I hope you enjoyed receiving this letter as much as I’ve enjoyed reading your work.
