Kaholie Revi is an Industrial and Product designer with a professional Bachelors in Design (B. Des.) degree in Industrial Arts & Design Practices from the Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology, one of India’s leading design schools.
She has undertaken a year of client-facing design assignments as part of her final year at Srishti. Her thesis project involved the redesign of an existing product line of solar PV streetlights for SEL-CO Foundation, significantly reducing life cycle costs and embodied energy, improving functional efficiency and meeting BIS lighting standards. An earlier consumer product design assignment for Tupperware involved the design of cream separation and milk storage containers in industrial plastic based on detailed research on Indian kitchen practices.
Her body of internship and student work spans industrial, product and furniture design; with a strongemphasis on design research and analysis, communication design and product photography;documentation and writing; software use and sound design. Kaholie has a deep personal interest inbiomimicry and innovative design.
She has functional skills in working with metal, industrial plastics, glass, acrylic, f ibreglass, wood,bamboo and other composites; textiles and fabric; paper and paper mache, clay and terra cotta inindustrial and SME units; artisan and college workshops and at the KAARU and Prakrit designstudios.
She has a good social and organisational skills, having helped manage a number of designprocesses. Kaholie has well-rounded set of artistic skills ranging from art, photography and sounddesign to music and theatre. She is skilled in oral and written communication, creative writing andideation, is widely read and travelled in India, Europe, North and South America and Africa.
