Dear Radu, It is just over 2 full years our MIR ball valves have gone into service in your APA gas pipelines - in our quality system it is required that we follow up our major customers and pursue feedback on the performance of our ball valves once they have gone into service . Q1. Can you please respond and inform us if the MIR ball valves are working well without any problems in full operating pipeline service ? Q2. If you have had any problems once they have gone into service in the gas pipelines, please let us know what these problems have been ?

The subsea ball valves have been installed into our PLET, in August it has been tested/commissioned in our site

yard in Malaysia and is now being delivered to be installed subsea sometime Oct-Nov period .

The Pipe in Pipe (PIP) System pipeline system which incorporates numerous API 6DSS valves manufactured and delivered in sizes 4 (600#) and 8 (900#) by MIR Valves (and supply of 1 bleed valves) has now had full operational service now for 1 month and is continuing to perform as designed. The demanding project schedule achieved by MIR Valves and the reliability of the Valves has played a key part in realization of this project which restores production to the Puteri Field. The challenging flow assurance of the oil is managed by the circulation of a hot water ethylene glycol medium through PIP annulus of the riser, pipeline system and expansion spools of which each end includes subsea manifold connection arrangements on which MIR Valves provide the means for isolation, and intervention when necessary. The final deliveries were late by 3 weeks on the contractual delivery of 16 weeks but the commitment, level of communications and support shown by MIR to recover and manage this delivery issue was of a very high standard. The MIR Ball valves ( 2 pcs ) have been installed, hydro-tested with the piping system to 275 bar on site and successfully placed in operation in our natural gas flowline system. The final ( 1 pc ) will be installed sometime in May 2009. Thank you for your support on this project; MIR is now considered qualified for the Zamzama Front End Compression (FEC) Project. All valves were ordered to meet full API 6D API 598 and NACE MR0175 Compliance. Upon recipt to our works the following was undertaken. Retesting to API 598 and Client specification all valves passed Functional testing and operation all valves passed. Paint and uniform inspection again all valves passed. Manufacturers material certificates, testing certificates and Inspection and Test plans all data provided was of extremely high standard and complied fully to our quality requirements stipulated on order. Delivery times were met and milestone on manufacturing was provided at staged manufacturing intervals per Valve Tech Engineering requirements. In closing the final finished standard of the equipment was high and final packaging was exemplary with no defects found or recorded during packaging. All serial numbers and lebeling provided on all valves matched all MIR supplied test certificates without exception.
