Business Capability Maps

• Business Capability Maps link the overall capabilities of an organization(or agency) and the underlying processes, functions, and systems(resources) that enable them.

• When these associations are contextualized along the customerjourney, decision makers can form a well-rounded view of what reallyconstitutes their business and the individual contributions of each unit, function or agencies.

• The value of Business capability maps is amplified when additionaloverlays of information are applied on the basic maps, such as thematurity or degree of readiness of such business capabilities.

• Business capability maps is the key piece in bridging business andtechnology since a business capability can be deconstructed in multiplelayers that expose functional and non-functional requirements adevelopment team can execute.
