Teras utama Unit Mikologi dan

Patologi, FRIM adalah men-

jalankan kajian berkenaan ku-

lat dan penyakit-penyakit

pokok hutan tropika dan pokok

hutan. Kajian kepelbagaian

kulat makro sedang dijalankan

kerana kulat memainkan per-

anan penting dalam ekosistem

hutan. Unit ini juga men-

jalankan kajian berkenaan ku-

lat ektomikoriza dan penggunaanya dalam pemuliharaan ka-

wasan yang telah diganggu.

Sebagai tambahan, unit ini menyediakan perkhidmatan-

perkhidmatan yang berkaitan dengan penyakit pokok hutan.

Perkhidmatan-perkhidmatan yang ditawarkan terdiri daripada

nasihat dan juga bantuan teknikal terutamanya dalam penge-

caman kulat, diagnosa penyakit

tumbuhan, pencegahan dan

kawalan penyakit tumbuhan.

The main thrust of the Mycology and

Pathology Unit is to conduct research

on fungi and diseases of tropical

forests and forest trees. Research on

macrofungal diversity is currently

being conducted as fungi play important roles in the forest ecosys-

tem. The Unit also conducts research on ectomycorrhizas and their

utilization in rehabilitation of degraded areas.

In addition, the Unit provides services related to forest tree diseases.

The services offered consist of advice and technical assistance espe-

cially in identification of fungi, plant disease diagnosis, prevention

and control of plant diseases.

Pelanggan dinasihatkan menyediakan sampel segar

dengan gejala atau tanda penyakit yang nyata.

Customers are advisable to provide fresh samples with appar-

ent symptoms or signs of disease.

Maklumat-maklumat yang mambantu proses pengeca-

man penyakit seperti jenis tanaman, kawasan penana-man, tarikh tanaman, rawatan diberikan, pembajaan

dan lain-lain mestilah jelas.

Information that could assist in diagnosing process of a disease

such as type of plant, location of planting, date of planting,

treatment given, fertilization and others must be clear.

Sampel berpenyakit perlu berada dalam keadaan kering

atau dibungkus dalam beg kertas.

Diseased samples should be in dry condition or packaged in

paper bag.

Sampel berpenyakit perlu mempunyai zon yang sihat

dan juga yang berpenyakit. Sampel yang tidak mempun-yai zon-zon ini tidak dapat membantu dalam mengenal-pasti organisma penyebab. (Bukan sampel yang rosak

sepenuhnya)

Diseased samples are required to have both healthy and af-

fected zones. Samples without these zones will not help in identifying the causative organism. (Do not provide samples

that are entirely damage)

Sampel berpenyakit perlulah diasingkan mengikut jenis

tanaman, kawasan dan ditanda/ dicatat dengan jelas

pada bungkusan.

Disease samples should be sorted according to types of plant,

location and marked / jot down clearly on the package.

Laporan diagnosa akan disediakan dan dihantar dalam

tempoh 14 hari berkerja selepas penerimaan sampel.

Diagnosis report will be prepared and delivered within 14

working days after acceptance of sample.

kenalpasti dan disyorkan kaedah rawatan

i. Samples delivered by customer to FRIM for identifi-

cation and to provide control treatments

ii. a) Pegawai FRIM pergi ke lapangan sekitar Lembah Klang untuk mengambil sampel, mengenal

pasti dan mengesyorkan kaedah rawatan

ii. a) FRIM’s officer visit study sites in Klang Valley for sampling, identification and recommendation of

control measures

R M 3 8 0 . 0 0 / l a w a -tan/sampel dan tamba-han RM130.00 bagi

setiap sampel berikutnya

for the following samples

ii. b) Lawatan lapangan oleh pegawai FRIM untuk mengenalpasti, mengesyorkan kaedah rawatan

dan mengambil sampel di luar Lembah Klang

ii. b) Field visits by FRIM officer for diagnosing, recommending treatment methods and sampling

outside Klang Valley

Bayaran seperti di (ii. a) yang tersebut diatas dan pelanggan juga perlu membiayai elaun per-jalanan, penginapan pegawai mengikut kadar di tetapkan oleh kera-

jaan.

The payment is as men-tioned above in (ii. a), and customers are also re-quired to fund officer's travelling allowances and lodging rate as fixed by

the government
