KOTA BHARU, Sun. – A couple was killed on the spot while their nine-year-

old daughter sustained minor injuries when their car collided with a lorry at the

Kota Bharu – Kuala Krai road last night. The deceased were identified as Rusdi Bin

Mamat, 45 and his wife, Saidah Binti Samad, 42. The family was from Kuala

Terengganu. They were on the way to Hospital Kuala Krai to visit a relative who

was warded there. Their daughter escaped with slight injuries and had to

undergo a minor operation to remove broken pieces of glass from her head.

Firefighters spent about an hour to free the bodies from the wreckage. The bodies

were sent to the Hospital University Kubang Kerian mortuary for a post mortem.

However, none of the truck passengers were injured. The family was travelling in

their car when the accident occurred near Bukit Belah.

When Qisha scored all A’s in her year-end examinations, her parents bought her a

laptop gift. Besides searching for information for her projects, she used the laptop to

browse for latest updates. One day, she stumbled across a food blog with beautiful

pictures. She shared it with her friends and they went to the cafes and restaurants

recommended by the website. Then she thought to herself how great it would be if she

could replicate a similar effect by starting her own blog. As she loves cooking, she

decided to share her recipes online.

Qisha got her mother’s help to take the pictures. Then she learnt to edit the pictures and uploaded them. When her recipes did not turn out as she had hoped, she worked on

it relentlessly, improving wherever necessary.

She also made sure that her recipes are healthy and the steps to prepare the food

are simple and clear for others to understand and follow. Every month, she will come up

with a theme to excite her readers. From one-pot cooking to cute bentos and nourishing

soups, Qisha would put in effort to make them attractive and update her blog frequently.

Soon, her blog was spotted by her friends and they enjoyed following her recipes.

Qisha was very happy that her favourite pastime and hard work could spread cheer and

encourage others to eat healthily.
