Project:FDVII,theex-GSFAdriaticVII,wasseverelydamagedduringHurricaneRita.Theleg,drillfloorandhelideckwerelost.Thejackingsystemwassoseverelydamageditwasreplaced.RigMastersisprovidingtheprojectmanagementteamoftherepair and upgrade of this rig. This includes all of the technical support plus procurement of the new drilling equipment.

Project:GulfDrillingconvertedGulf3,a1977builtLeTourneauslotrigbeingusedasaMobileOffshoreProductionUnittoacantileverjackupdrillingrig.AsaMOPU,allofthedrillingequipmenthadbeenremovedandthemachineryspacesmodified.Rig Masters provided a 8 person project team for this project. We reviewed all of the engineering and construction drawings,developed drilling systems, specified and helped source equipment, advised on regulatory compliance everything from startthrough final commissioning.

Project:AD22waspurchasedbyADC.Priortothepurchase,therighadbeenwarmstacked.RigMasterswasprojectmanagerforthereactivationinDubaiDry-docks.Theoverallscopeofworkincludedacompleteinspectionoftherighull,legs,shipsservice and drilling systems. In addition to hull repairs, all major equipment was removed, overhauled, reinstated and commis-sioned.Thehighpressuremudandcementpipingsystemswerecompletelyreplaced.Theaccommodationblockwaspartiallyrenewed. The project was completed within the estimated time frame and below the original budget.

Rig/Operator:BIMA/SchlumbergerIPM

Project:Bimaisa4leggedMultiPurposeServiceVesseldesignedforoperationsinSEAsia.After4yearsinservice,cracksin the legs were discovered necessitating return of the rig to the building yard in Singapore. Rig Masters was the project andtechnical manager for the leg repairs plus rig modifications. We supervised a detailed failure analysis to determine the cause oftheweldfailures.Wealsodirectedanextensivefracturemechanicsassessmenttojustifyrepairofonlyabout50%ofthedefectswhile the rig continued drilling operations with no shutdown. Bima is still in service.

Project:Installationofthreelegsections,approximately67ft.longeach.Duetocranelimitsintheshipyard,wefirstcuttheexistingsectionsintwopiecesresultingin6sectionsoflegtobeerected.Wefabricatedandinstalledtheskidframesfortheleginstallationandthenerectedthe6legsectionsperleg.Theprojectwascompletedaheadofscheduleandwithoutarepair

in over 200 high strength welds.
