KUALA LUMPUR ------- 1500 pupils of SK Pekan Nilam made a success in the Charity Carnival

to raise funds for their school. There were more than 25 stalls selling food, drinks,

handicrafts, and books. Visitors, both young and old, took the opportunity to see the wide

variety of items on sale.

Teachers and pupils worked together to earn as much profit as they can while being

entertained by other pupils performing modern songs, dance, and cultural activities. During

the carnival, the pupils experienced the ups and downs of business. They were exposed to

hot sun, entertained various types of customers and were exhausted by the end of the day.

However, the profit they made was well worth the effort.

The money collected would go towards the school’s Parent-Teacher Association fund. It

will be used to equip the classrooms in the new school block with visualisers. The money

would also be used to improve the school security system. Apart from that, the school will

have a mini stadium which will be completed next year. This was sponsored by the

government. The school would need additional funds for the ‘extras’.
