Challenges
Dims - CEEKAY has successfully executed an unusual OOG with around 3 times of container height (cargo height 5.2 mtrs) as normal OOG from Nhava Sheva to Sharjah.
Terminal - Advance approvals for handling from terminals involved i.e. POL, POD & Transhipment were secured prior confirmation of booking.
Road permit - Because of the cargo height, it took 8 days to reach Nhava Sheva Port. Cargo manufactured in Pune but it was routed via Nasik because of height restrictions enroute.
Port gate entry / Out - Normally all ports gate have width / height restriction which we have checked prior movement of the cargo.
Congratulations team

Another BREAK BULK shipment Handled by Ceekay Shipping
CEEKAY has successfully executed a BREAK BULK shipment of Liehbehr Crane – Telescopic
Boom section measuring 21.33 mtrs long x 3.26 mtrs wide x 4.88 mtrs high weighing 48 Mts basis
ON-BOARD operation on vessel GH Zephyr V. 002 from Mundra to Jebel Ali.
Agreed terms for shipment was Break bulk loading/discharge at POL/POD & direct delivery (DD) on
Consignee’s trailer at destination i.e. Jebel Ali.
We faced huge challenges as this was pure BB cargo & loading on container vessel was an
extremely difficult task. We had to put a lot of efforts convincing all parties involved starting from
Forwarder, Shipper, POL Terminal, POD Terminal, Vessel Operator, Stevedores etc.
The shipment was extremely challenging & adventurous, despite of advance approvals prior
movement of cargo @ origin there was some or the other problems at every stage until it was
delivered to the Consignee on trailer at destination.
8 empty 40’FR Flat rack containers were placed on-board GH Zephyr side by side in order create a
bed for the cargo, then the cargo was placed separately on the bed of 8x40’FR containers. A saddle
was created using wooden blocks, beams & metal frames to stabilize the cargo for safe sea
passage. Stevedoring team present on- board then had to perform placing of saddle, placing of
cargo on saddle, lashing & securing of both saddle & cargo of 8x40’FR containers in presence of a
Marine Surveyor & Master of the Ship.
Upon green signal from Master & Surveyor, the vessel sailed with said cargo & reached its
destination. Consignee was already intimated for making necessary arrangements for direct
delivery, upon arrival it was informed that the trailer arranged by Consignee was not capable for
handling / transporting said package. There was a huge uproar, as vessel has limited time of
operation & discharge needs to be completed first so that they can start loading operation.
Fortunately Consignee managed to arrange an appropriate transport within few hours & the
cargo was safely discharged & delivered on Consignee’s truck.
It was a teamed effort, kudos to CEEKAY team for
successful execution of such unusual BB cargo basis
containers.

Congratulations team BLG Parekh
“BLG Parekh Logistics Pvt Ltd recently won one of the most prestigious contracts from Daimler
India Commercial vehicles, a manufacturer of commercial vehicles, based out of Chennai. Total
contract value stands approximately Rs. 25 crs for a period of 3 years and services include CKD
and Part Level Packaging for their Global supply chain. India is slowly becoming a hub for Daimler’s
global supply chain and this activity will increase both in scale and complexity in the coming years.
BLG Logistics won this contract against very stiff competition and beat major players. The entire
operations is based out of Chennai and total team size will be in the range of 250-300 people. BLGP
is confident of making this a world class operation and enter into additional areas of Daimler’s
supply chain in the coming months. This also gives opportunity to BLGP to expand its customer
base in Chennai’s booming automotive industry”.
Team received appreciation from the Vice President-Procurement
In our Part Level Packaging operation for Bajaj Auto, Aurangabad, we set the new historic high by
packaging material for 20136 vehicles in one month. The previous high was 16000 vehicles. The
success is all the more notable because the team achieved this performance against the toughest
conditions. Our storage systems, Processes, Plant layout and Infrastructure was not matured to
generate output beyond 15000-18000 vehicles. However Bajaj had given us the challenge that we
need to somehow demonstrate as there were major escalations from their export team. Team
decided to accept the challenge and did multiple changes on ground in record time and with the help
of additional manpower and third shift, started working on day’s target and slowly and steadily
ensured that the month’s numbers are delivered. Team also produced and delivered 829 CKD lots
against the previous high of 789 lots,Team received appreciation from the Vice President-
Procurement. In Spare Parts operation of Bajaj Auto, Aurangabad, the team for the month of June
recorded production of 3.86 lac order-lines against previous high of 3.76 lac order-lines. This is also
a new benchmark with minimal overtime and no extra resources.

Every year, on 14 June, countries around the
world celebrate World Blood Donor Day
(WBDD). The event serves to raise awareness of
the need for safe blood and blood products and to
thank blood donors for their life saving gifts of blood.
Blood is an important resource, both for planned
treatments and urgent interventions. It can help
patients suffering from life threatening conditions live
longer and with a higher quality of life, and supports
complex medical and surgical procedures. Blood is
also vital for treating the wounded during emergencies
of all kinds (natural disasters, accidents, armed
conflicts, etc.) and has an essential, life saving role
in maternal and perinatal care.
