First of all, I would like to express warmest welcome to all valued exhibitors, partners, visitors, delegates, and members of the media. Thank you for joining and supporting LabAsia Northern, the third roadshow of ASEAN’s leading laboratory exhibition, LabAsia.

Once more, we are honoured to be in partnership with Institut Kimia Malaysia (IKM), to organize LabAsia Northern in conjunction with the Symposium on Chemical Safety.

Safety is paramount in any laboratory operations. Chemical, biological, and physical hazards are common in any lab environment, and endanger the well-being of laboratory personnel. Therefore, it is imperative that all stakeholders be not only aware of these dangers, but to take concrete action to protect lives and property. To this effect, we thank Institut Kimia Malaysia for taking the initiative to raise awareness through this symposium.

Furthermore, the Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER) & InvestPerak programmes will place emphasis on developing manufacturing, biotechnology, renewable energy, medical, and halal industries in these states. Through NCER, an expected RM117 billion worth of investments will see an increase for laboratory-related jobs in these states, and indirectly, the need for a safe and conducive working environment.
