Introduction

The research competencies in the factors for British tourist to choose Bangladesh airlines for

trael to Bangladesh as a leisure destination were the most interesting and fascinating to me!

"hen I came into the program I came to know that# research was a weakness! $o# I %egan my

work in this portion with a statistics class in the fall after orientation! In this certain reflection

 paper# I am going to share how my knowledge e&tended my learning and understanding of

research! Not only this# %ut also e&plode a passion for accomplishing research 'Islam# n!d!(!

)long with the way of my learning# I also deeloped the importance of reading and calculating

research to improe my practice! For supporting my practice whether it is my own research or

other*s research# Research Reflection +aper will %e the %ack%one! In this reflection paper I am

going to share my knowledge is changing my understanding and thinking! )nd at last the

reflection paper will ends %y looking into the future of my research and my future learning and

thinking a%out the nature of knowledge! )nd %y growing knowledge in the field of tourism will

Reading Research

By reading the research it has affected my knowledge that how I calculate information applies

research and makes new programs on the %asis of research and theory '+earson and ,erkert#

-./0(! To %egin and for applying research to my work and practices it is connected and familiar

with the 1ournals# articles data%ase and sources of pu%lished research! I came to know the

dissimilarities %etween a research article and an opinion article that has generally make changes

in my thinking regarding the information what I am getting day to day life! I heard a%out the

study 2uoted in the news# in a presentation# on a %log I am thinking a%out the research methods#

measurement methods# analysis method as well as the sample methods! 3en I find easy to go in

depth of the research process as it is %elieed that a research offers proof for a particular concept!

)s I get ahead to learn a%out the methods of statics and the challenges of 2ualitatie research# I

understand the hesitant nature of research studies! Research study gets messy from the challenges

theories to practical work! )s the research proides a foundation for# my claims and

Usefulness of theoretical framework 

In my dissertation# I hae selected the )ssimilation4Contrast Theory in the framework which is

deeloped %y )nderson! This theory is the com%ination of two different theories one is

assimilation theory and another one is contrast theory! This certain theory tries signifying that the

ideas of )ssimilation and contrast theory hae releantly and appropriately in the conte&t of

satisfaction of the customers! This theory applied for the purpose of analysing the performance of 

the product then e&pectation control and effect of assimilation can %e analysed '5uang and

"ashington# -./6(! The impact of contrast is resulted during the huge participation situations!

)ssimilation will regulate and the performance will %e estimated as satisfactory!

The second theory which I hae mentioned in my dissertation is the customer satisfaction

 pyramid! In eery term# it is difficult to understand the satisfaction of all the customers! )nd

hence it is important to hae the comments# desires# demands and complaints from the customers

as the feed%acks always help to recogni7e the defect or unsatisfactory factor in the serices

which should %e improed 'Baker# -./8(! $o# on the %asis of ,aslow*s 5ierarchy of Needs# the

customers* satisfaction pyramid is made in my dissertation! This theory is included in my

dissertation for the purpose of motiating and encouraging to con2uering the ne&t leel! In this

 particular theory I hae shown the pyramid step %y step! The first step includes the lowest step of 

customer satisfaction includes dependa%ility and alue! )s these two elements encourages the

decision making process of customer! The second step of this pyramid contains the timeliness

and responsi%le that represents a good %ehaiour towards the customers! For gaining the

competitie %enefits it is ery important to maintain a %etter relationship with customers! The

third of the pyramid in my dissertation shows that organi7ations should always concentrate on

the emotions of the customers as it enhance the trust among the customers regarding the

organi7ation! The last step shows that the first impression should %e appropriate and pleasant so

that the customers cannot forget the name of the company! 3en should attain customers in a

special way that they share their e&perience with others! In my dissertation I hae researched

a%out the keno*s customer satisfaction model it contains attractie 2uality# must4%e 2uality#

reerse 2uality# dimensional 2uality and indifferent 2uality! )ll these elements refer to customer*s

satisfaction and improement of the product that diided customer choices into fie categories

'Fan and 9iang# -./-(! From all the a%oe theories that I hae discussed in the reflection paper

the most important model that I hae seen in the dissertation is the Keller*s Customer4Based

Brand 32uity model! This model contains four steps which should %e taken into consideration#

 %rand performance# %rand imagery# %rand feelings# %rand resonance and %rand 1udgment! These

models refer to the process of formulating strong %rands! In my dissertation# I also hae

mentioned the loyalty ladder model of customer loyalty ':eone et al!# -..;(! This method is a

methodical way of categori7ing customers of an organi7ation into fie groups which is on the

 %asis of customer loyalty! The fie groups are adocated# customer# suspects# clients and

 prospects! The customer loyalty ladder helps the %usiness organi7ation to improe and deeloped

the strong relationship and communication with the customers %y guiding appropriate way of

maintaining relationships '+rasatadisak and Chailom# -./8(!

 

Design and methodologies

In this particular portion# I o%sere research methodologies# designs and dissertation structure

during my readings! By learning and reading these designs and structures I %egan to think like a

researcher! I hae wonder arious future research pro1ects and programs that I would like to

determine! It is eident from this particular section that I linkup all my ideas as a researcher

followed the entire layers of a research onion to continue the research actiities! I hae %een

inspired %y the research philosophy in order to improe the assumption that has %een determined

world of research which helps to identify! There are mainly two types of assumptions that I hae

used in the research and those are epistemology and ontology! The epistemology includes

realism# positiism and interpretiism! From these three ways of research philosophy I hae

selected positiism as it proides the authentication of the utili7ed theories! I hae learned a%out

the research design which is a ital techni2ue of research which would help the analysis in three

ways for the research purpose and those are analytical# e&ploratory and e&planatory! )ccording

to these three ways of research purposes I hae selected only the analytical method as it will help

to analyse the critical details and information for the reason of adding more and trendier ideas

and concepts for the materials of the research! For setting up a research strategy I hae chosen

arious types of sureys and interiews! In order to find out the reason %ehind the success of

Bangladesh airlines in influencing British passengers to select their airlines for traeling to

Bangladesh %ut also for gathering the internal information! By thinking myself as a researcher I

reiewed the sampling methods and sample si7e! I hae selected the simple random sampling for

selecting the 6. tourists of Bangladesh )irlines and releant sample techni2ue for selecting the 6

managers of Bangladesh )irlines!

In my dissertation# I hae continued thinking regarding pro%a%le research to %e accomplished

after I finish my readings in the certain topic a%out Bangladesh )irlines! I hae undertaken the

two most important research collection i!e! primary data collection and secondary data collection

for the purpose of gaining deeper knowledge regarding the research topic! )ccording to the

secondary research data I hae ealuate the different data information depending upon the %asis

of arious 1ournals# we%sites# %ooks and internal sources '+ara1uli# -..=(! >n the %asis of

 primary data research I hae recommended a%out the 2ualitatie data and 2uantitatie data forthe purpose of taking the different type of perceptions of the 6. tourists of Bangladesh )irlines

through sets of 2uestionnaires which includes multiple choices! )nd the 2ualitatie data of the

research I hae gathered opinions %y direct interiew of the 6 managers of Bangladesh )irlines!

For forwarding ahead# I am deeloping to communicate research findings from %ooks# articles#

dissertations and sureys! I hae %egun to share my research in pu%lished articles and hae

created a list of future pu%lications! I hae started to share my result regarding the dissertation in

the referencing pages in my dissertations# short %log posts! In my dissertation I hae listed

arious factors in order to reach the British tourist*s leisure destination in Bangladesh! >n the

 %asis of particular scholarly works and on the %asis of opinions of the selected respondents# it is

eident that Bangladesh )irlines is the %est suited for the British tourists 'Kla%i# -./-(! This

carry on the conersion on my work is worth full to future understanding and also gies

 potentiality to future research!

Implementing research findings in my work 

By com%ining my research and analysis into my thinking and knowledge has changed my

working way and practices! 5ence now I try to conclude trendier research findings in my

 presentations! Furthermore# I look for research guide of my working way and practices! I am also

deeloping as well as improing my support of customer*s satisfaction models and

methodologies theories on the %asis of my dissertation research! I am also organi7ing sureys and

interiews in my area# nationally and internationally regarding the factors influencing British

Tourists to choose Bangladesh )irlines for trael to Bangladesh as a leisure destination! ) certainand rapid change in my presentation is the day to day %asis conclusion of research studies on the

methodologies and theories on aiation factors and customer*s or passenger*s satisfaction %y the

serices proided %y the Bangladesh airlines to the British tourists! ,y theoretical models hae

now %i%liographies in order to make it more releant and innoatie! From the sureys and

interiews I found that tourists and customers are mainly appreciate the serices and %etter

responses from the airlines serice department! $o in my research I hae already recommended

many suggestions and programs to make this happen! )nd also reference on the recommendation

in my dissertation '+els# -..=(! >n the %asis of my own research I am implementing the results

in my support of theories models in my dissertation! I hae upgraded many more suggestions and

comments regarding the facilities and serices that are proided %y the airlines! I plan to use my

new scale for end of the year ealuations# to further discoer how I can assist the deelopment

and improement of my theoretical structure models! I continue to recommend and suggest

department to understand the issues and demands of customers more easily!

The path to future research

"riting this dissertation has changed me! It has also changed my iews of reading and writing!

For good or %ad# %ut writing this dissertation has %ecome a part of my life! I hae changed in my

learning and knowing! ,y writing has improed and I am thinking more like a researcher now! )

task list is captured %y me for the writing momentum and I will surely keep it up for the future

articles! This section e&amined my future plans for research and learning*s!

This dissertation which was written %y me was grounded on the 2ualitatie study %ut carry out

with 2uantitatie methods! ) wealth is proided %y Data collection for the future research andarticles! The first two articles which I plan to pu%lish are on the %asis of two main o%1ecties of

my research which are? To analyse the importance of )irlines industry in order to improe

tourism of a country and to ealuate the strategies# policies implemented %y Bangladesh )irlines

in order to attract foreign customers '+els# -..=(! In addition# another article will report on the

descriptie methods and statics and implications %ased on them! I hae also decided to pu%lish an

article regarding the factors that attract British tourist in order to choose )irlines for trael!

)nother article on the results of my findings to recommend some methods for improing the

factors of Bangladesh )irline that attracts British Tourists could %e pu%lished!

The research 2uestion that arose during my dissertation is what the importance of )irlines

industry is in order to improe tourism of a country! )nother 2uestion which arises during this

research is to know the strategies# policies implemented %y Bangladesh )irlines in order to

attract foreign customers! This research would reconsider and test my utili7ation definition for its

usefulness! )nother research 2uestion hae %een raised i!e! what are the factors that attract

British tourist in order to choose )irlines for trael! These research 2uestions and other

important issues of the dissertation will keep me on a research path for a considera%le future!

Future learning could include other methods of Data analysis! It has encouraged me to learn

a%out the factor analysis# methodology and other procedures! The future e&periences with

2ualitatie research methods will help to increase my research a%ilities '+els# -..=(! In further

research and learning# I can surely improe my understanding and a%ility of applying research
