Death is a reality and no living creature can escape from it. Quran declared that every creature has to taste death but despite of this non controversial fact, the death of all humanity cant be equated. The death of some proves to be a blessing for all creatures of Allah while death of some is the death of the world and the ‘death of the world’ is actually the death of the society. These are the personalities who’s Knowledge, deeds, devoutness, piety and intellect enlightens the candles of admonish, removes the darkness of fallaciousness/cussedness and enshowers the divine mercy. Peer-e- Tareeqat Hazrat Maulana Hamid Ali Khan was R.A. was indeed one of those elegant people and his death caused an infilling space in empirical and spiritual world.

Thoughts of Sheikh-e Tareeqat bring to mind like a strong institution of religion and politics; gives a divine refreshing feeling. Allah had blessed him with such characteristics and masterliness which could be enough for a whole big group and masses. Hazrat R.A was a treasure of knowledge and model of conduct. He was extremely pious, devout, virtuous and God fearing. What ever he had, was a gift of Allah. Allah blessed him with great reward of ‘abdiyyat’ and ‘mehboobiat’. He was the center of gravity for all communities of political leaders, Faqeers, Students, intellectuals and always seemed to be above all. He was always seen showing affection to all: from the biggest leaders to to the children. His greatness, grandeur, soberness and sublimity was equal for all. We always feel deprived of his kindness and after him departure from this world, we missed him immensely.

The land of subcontinent gave birth to many great men and it can be said with authenticity that Hazrat Maulana R.A was one of those. One could think of the great predecessors of the Islamic history. Without exaggeration, he was one of the those who practically followed the footprints of Islam in all walks of life.

Hazrat Maulana R.A was perhaps born in 1902 in ‘Mohalla Halqah wali ziarat’ of Mustafa abad a.k.a Raampur state (U.P). Father’s name was Shaida Ali Khan and grand father’s name was Mehdi Ali khan. His fore fathers belonged to a tribe named ‘Kamal Zai’ near Peshawar from where they migrated to a Raampur state and joined a government job. As his grand father Mehdi Ali khan was a well known literary figure, he was the guardian of the government library of the state (this library is a literary treasure in india). As a matter of coincidence, the ancestral home of Hazrat Maulana R.A was in the glorious ‘Mohalla Halqah wali ziarat’ where a great Sufi Qutab Irshad of his time used to live with consultation of whom the management of Khanqah Mujaddid R.A Sarhand Sharif was run, was the hub of knowledge and gnosis. His name was Hazrat Maulana Hafiz Inayat ullah khan sahib Mujaddidi. Hazrat Malulana Hamid Ali Khan R.A had the fortune of saying Salah with such a great Wali and was blessed with the company of a that Wali-e-Kamil in masjid. IN his own book ‘Tazkara tul Mashaikh’ Malulana Hamid Ali Khan R.A says that Hazrat Hafiz Inayat ullah khan sahib had such a liking and affection of him of which the others were not privileged. So whenever Hazrat used to find me standing uselessly with the children or elders of the area, used to call me with the sign of his and said “Done waste your time like this, do your work”. Peer-e- Tareeqat says that at the start of youth, I got blessed with the Bait of Hazrat Inayat ullah R.A and whatever I got was due to his benevolence. The company of Hazrat R.A was a only a blessing of Allah. Hazrat Maulana Hafiz Inayat ullah khan sahib was such a great scholar and Wali that once the founder of Deoband, Qasim Nanotawi came to ‘Mohalla Halqah wali ziarat’ while Hazrat R.A was giving lecture to his students, listened to him for few minutes and was saying “This is what is called

Tafseer and this is Wa’az”. Hussain Ahmed Madni also once came to visit him at Khanqah Shareef. Mufti Mehmood sahib also payed his regards to him at Darbar Khanqah during his studies and after the departure of Hazrat R.A, he tool oath (Bait) from Ala Hazrat’s Khalifah Shah Abdul Haleem Bokhari R.A (Dear Ismail Khan). Often, great mashaikh of ‘Ahle Sunnat’ usually used to come to pay their tributes. Once when Ala Hazrat Ahmed Raza Barelvi was a child, came to visit with his father to Raampur and his father requested to leave the child under Aala Hazrat’s supervision for spiritual and religious training (training of Zahir o Batin) but Aala Hazrat R.A saw through his spiritual eye that this child would take his part from some other place so came back to Bareli and completed his spiritual and religious training from his father.

When Hazrat Maulana Hamid Ali khan R.A completed his Persian studies, requested for ‘Bait’ from Hazrat Maulana Hafiz Inayat ullah khan sahib R.A. Reply came,”First study then take oath (Bait)” and then requested again, “I will study and you give ‘Bait’ too”. Aala Hazrat asked him to come to halqah shareef at evening. So peer-e- Tareeqat went to halqah-e Zikr and got sanctified with Bait. After Bait, Peer-e-Tareeqat got obsessed with the Arabic and religious studies; went to the true Murshid (Hazrat Maulana Hafiz Inayat ullah khan sahib) and expressed it; Hazrat got extremely blissful and sent him to his most capable son named Hazrat Al-Mukhdoom Maulana Hafiz Himayat ullah Khan Sahib for Uloom e Aqalia o naqlia who instantly accepted him. Maulan Hamid Ali Khan R.A got his education and training in a father like affection and fondness from him both during stay and traveling. Maulana Hamid Ali Khan took all the lessons till ‘Sharah Haji Qutabi’ from Hafiz Himayat ullah Khan Sahib R.A and got admission in great institute of Raampur where he continued his studies as per syllabus of Raampur institute. This institute had a unique status and the central point of studies of arts and religion in India since ancient times. That’s why the students from all over India used to come there for religious education. The most dear friends and companions of Hazrat Maulana R.A are Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Allah sahib and Hazrat Maulana Hafiz inayat ullah Khan Sahib. Some of Hazrat sahib’s companions are alive with the grace of Allah and are bestowing the blessings of Allah upon masses.

They had completed all their religious studies together, from start till end and used to heavily respect each other. BY the grace of Allah, Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Allah Khan Sahib is the Sajjada Nasheen of Khanqah Inayatia. Hazrat sahib R.A respected him so much and during his last visit to Pakistan, he said to the writer, “I asked Maulan Hamid Ali Khan R.A that brother! We always lived like friends but now your respect me so much like a ‘peer’”. So due to this relation, Hazrat Maulana R.A would not sit on the head side of bed with Maulana Muhammad Allah Khan. Hazrat Maulana Hamid Ali Khan R.A got was bestowed and gifted by many famous scholars of Raampur specially Maulana Hafiz Himayat Ullah Khan R.A, Hazrat Maulana Fazl-e-Haq R.A (Principal of Madrasah Raampur), Hazrat maulana Moiz ullah Khan R.A, Hazrat Maulana Nazeer ud Din R.A and Hazrat maulana Wajeeh ud Din. Hazrat Sahin R.A got his certification from Madrasah in 1930 and stood first. This way he got the reward of his continuous hardwork.

After bait, Peer o Murshid R.A of Hazrat maulana R.A said to him that its not obligatory to you to fulfill the requirement of Wazeefa/Zikr count rather the struggle for knowledge is your actual Wazeefah. But Hazrat sahib R.A had such immense attention of his Murshid that he used to complete his Zikr/Wazeefa count. He used to regularly attend the Khatam-e-Khawajgaan and Mefil-e-Zikr of both

times at Khanqah Inayatia everyday and he never had any kind of negligence of studies, lessons and unending Zikr. For five years after Bait, Hazrat sahib R.A for bestowed by his Murshid and the course of ‘Salook ’ had reached “Haqeeqat-e-Ibrahimi ” that Qibla Murshid got seriously ill. During his illness, Hazrat Sahib R.A got worried about the completion of the ongoing training and what would happen? During the days of illness of Aala Hazrat R.A, few devotees used to abigail/attend at night turnwise. Our ‘Peer-e-Tareeqat’ was one of those; at night used to attend Aala Hazrat R.A and fan for him whole night. But the disappointment about the future used to bother him and for alleviation, used to pay attention toward Aala Hazrat R.A for his blessings. Hazrat sahib had refrained from talking those days and mostly his eyes were closed. One night after attending Aala Hazrat R.A at approximately 12’O clock at night, didn’t go to home and slept in masjid instead. And in dream saw Aala Hazrat R.A; where as the respected mentor Hazrat Himayat Ullah Khan R.A took him to Aala Hazrat R.A and requested that the course work of Hamid Ali R.A may please be completed. Reply came, “ you should now practice the ‘La- ta’ayyun’ muraqbah”. Hazrat Sahib R.A woke up after that, got satisfied and thanked Allah Almighty.

Hazrat Maulana Inayat ullah Khan R.A passed away afterwards and Maulana Himaya Ullah Khan was made the successor of Khanqah-e-Inayatia who had started to take ‘Bait’ of God seekers during the lifetime of Aala Hazrat R.A. The loving mentor was already beneficent and even more attention was paid to the inner training of Hazrat Sahib R.A till completion of course work of ‘Salook’. In those days fews devotees of Hazrat Maulana Inayat ullah Khan R.A traveled from Rohtuk to Raampur and Mufti Himayat Ullah Khan Sahin R.A pointed at Hazrat Sahib Peer-e Tareeqat R.A who seemed very young at that time but he gracefully refused. ---

After few months, Ata ullah Khan Sahib R.A, the younger son of Aala Hazrat R.A came to masjid and said to our beloved Hazrat Sahib R.A, “Hamid Ali! Today I saw a dream about you. A huge congregation is in masjid. Hazrat QIbla Peer-o-Murshid is in the first row near arch and you (Hamid Ali R.A) are also in the first row near by. The prayer plae for Imam is vacant. Hazrat Maulana Inayat ullah Khan R.A called you (Hamid Ali R.A) pointing a finger and made you the imam”. On third or fourth day of this dream, Qari Khurshid sahib R.A came from Rohtuk city to Raampur and requested again for a trainer and teacher. So Maulana Mufti Hidayat ullah Khan sahib R.A offered me. As I seemed to be grown up so accepted the proposal and then Maulana Hamid Ali Khan Sahib R.A arrived in Rohtuk as a tutor. He took charge of Madrasah Khair-ul-Muad in 1932 and started teaching as per systemic syllabus. Apart from this he paid special attention to the faculty of Hifz-e-Quran, counseling and recitation. He got famous for his abilities, administration and teaching style and students from far away palces used to come to Rohtuk to quench their thirst of knowledge and religious education. Students came even from Kashmir, Bihaar, Nawakhali and Bangladesh. He reconstructed the building of Madrasah and a big masjid. When his capability started reflecting in the students, the income of the Madrasah also increased. Also Hazrat Sahib R.A started a campaign of handful of flour after consultation. It worked like this that in all the Muslim community of Rohtuk city, a pot was placed in each house and whenever the ladies at home prepared for the meals, used to put one handful of flour in that pot daily. And the representatives of ‘Anjuman e Islamia Khair-ul-muad used to pick up that flour of those pots from every home on weekly basis returning back the pots. So hundreds of kilos of flour was collected every week which was very useful. Also Hazrat sahib R.A made a great building for a department of studies for ladies for the muslim girls to

learn the religious education along with art of handcrafting. Hazrat Sahib R.A used to teach whole day and didn’t use to waste time in people for nothing. Used to talk a walk in balcony if tired, at times. There were so many sessions of education like from morning till Zohr then from Zohr till Asr, repetition and recreation from Asr till Maghrib, lessons after Maghrib and again repetition and books reading from Isha till 1’O clock at night. All the students were directly monitored by Hazrat Sahib R.A and he used to help them in their lessons and learning. Often had a stick in his hand to rebuke students but didn’t use it instead verbally used to control them strictly. At maximum used to abstain or delay a meal. He showed kindness like a loving father and taught the students of far flung places like a compassionate teacher. The atmosphere was so rich and cohesive that the students said that they didn’t even remind their parents for years while staying in that school and didn’t want to go on leaves to their homes because they would have to go away from Hazrat Sahib R.A.

When Hazrat sahib came to Rohtuk, the teaching of religious education was started in a full fledged way. At the same time some graceful people like Hafiz bashir R.A and Hafiz Muhammad Umer asked for Bait but Hazrat Sahib R.A declined. People used to get more compelled for this wish even despite of continuous denial from Hazrat Sahib R.A. Mean while the commemoration of Hazrat Mujaddid Alf Sani R.A was held where mashaikh from far off places visited and Hazrat Sahib R.A also went there. Sahibzada Hazrat Muhammad Allah Khan Sahib of Khanqah-e-Inayatia also accompanied him to the Darbar-e-Mujaddid. Those people requested Hazrat Muhammad Allah Khan Sahib R.A that they used to ask Hazrat Hamid Ali Khan Sahib R.A to let them enter in the Silsila but he refused. So Hazrat Muhammad Khan Sahib asked Hazrat sahib R.A, ”Why you refuse people to teach them the name of Allah? Don’t you remember what Hazrat Qibla Peer-o-Murshid that when you complete your course and syllabus of ‘Salook’ and people approach you for that; teach them how to call Allah Allah”. So on the orders of successor of Aala Hazrat R.A, this chain of Bait was also started and also Sahibzada sahib made few people as devotees (Mureed) in his presence. This incident was narrated to the writer by Hazrat Muhammad Allah Khan Sahib during his last visit to Pakistan in December 1979 for visiting Hazrat Sahib R.A.

From 1932 till 1947, Hazrat Sahib lived in Rohtuk city and guided Muslims in all respects. After the resolution of Pakistan was presented in 1940, the hindus got fuming and riots started. The time between 1940 to 1947 was a test of patience. The government and businesses were mostly owned by hindus and even in result of small panic and unrest they used to close their shops which caused a huge problem for Muslims also to get food items. The grain markets were mostly owned by the hindus and many Muslims would not get food so this situation compelled Hazrat Sahib R.A to hold a conference of Muslim entourage in Madrasah Khair ul Muad in which Hazrat Sahib R.A gave valuable suggestions for removal of grain shortage. It was finally decided to launch a “Muslim Traders company” during aberrances to find a solution of hardships of Muslims. And by the grace of Allah, the company started up with a handsome capital of 5 lacs. This was a religious and social obligation along with a source of earning profit so many people from Rohtuk invested. So the company flourished and stored a lot of grain. Muslims started buying from the outlets of that company and hence got free of annoyance caused by hindus. Even when 500 hindu villages invaded and surrounded Rohtuk city to destroy Muslims, there was no shortage of food caused. Allahu Akbar, Muslims were over whelmed with passion and used to

guard the city round the clock. Even having scarce resources; sticks and swords being their weapons against guns along with military support but lacking divine decree. One day, hindus entered the city and the whole city was sounding the slogans of Allahu Akbar which frightened the hindus and they ran off where ever they could. Hence the benediction of adaptation from Hazrat Sahib saved the Rohtuk city. These noble Muslims then migrated to Pakistan and throughout journey no one had the courage to face the bold, string and firm Muslims. Had they been fragile, would had become a victim of hindus and even up till now their rigidness and passion of belief is known to all. After arriving Pakistan these people played an exemplary role in Tehreek e Nizaam Mustafa S.A.W. The truth is that this community was demolished literary by the Englishmen but our Hazrat Sahib R.A’s training made them to rise otherwise these people were going in the depths of slavery despite of being capable. Hazrat Sahib elevated them to live gracefully as Muslims. During the stay in Rohtuk, many greats of Ahle Sunnat used to visit Hazrat Sahib R.A from far off places and Hazrat Sahib R.A used to arrange their stay and meals. Hazrat Qibla Maulana Abdul Hamid Badayuni R.A and Hazrat maulana Shah Arif ullah Qadri R.A used to come to have discussions and views exchange with Hazrat Sahib R.A.

Hazrat Sahib R.A himself lead all the procession of Eid Milad unNabi S.A.W and used to take part in congregation where as Seekhs and Hindu speakers were also invited. Once a hindu barrister came from Lahore on the eve of Eid Milad un Nabi S.A.W and embraced Islam getting inspired by Hazrat Sahib R.A and blessings of the Zikr of our beloved Nabi S.A.W. Hazrat Sahib embraced many hindus, Seekhs and Christians specially some mirzai people in Multan to Islam and writer saw many himself. Spread the message of Quaid e Azam to every house and used to patronize Muslim League. When Feroz Khan Noon came to Rohtuk, Hazrat Sahib R.A showed him many mosques and important places and donated Rupees 500 to Muslim league fun from Rohtuk city. Muslims councilors were in majority in Rohtuk and mostly the chairman municipal committee used to be a Muslim otherwise even the hindu chairman would also be with to their support. And ethics were so rich that even the hindu chairman would support Muslims on many incidents.

After Asr, Hazrat sahib allowed the students to go for a walk for recreation and himself also used to go for walk in the morning. After arriving Multan, also used to go for a walk to Qasim bagh fort with devotees having tasbeeh in hand and this way used to have a visit of shrine of Hazrat Rukn ud Din R.A also during walk. Once inside the shrine, a woman held the feet of Hazrat Sahib R.A which made Hazrat Sahib got upset and then didn’t go inside. After that didn’t go inside except at some special occasions rather used to say Fatiha standing in the grass plot outside the mausoleum and used to walk there and after the Ishraq prayers on return, would take some rest and then again busy in teaching lessons at Madrasah Khair ul Muad. At the start of the lesson, the student used to read the syntax first which was listened by Hazrat Sahib R.A and he would do the corrections if required and after that Hazrat Sahib R.A used to ask about the reading of the last night that what was understood by the students. The students used to repeat at their turns and Hazrat Sahib R.A used to do the necessary corrections and this way every one would learn the lesson easily and would not forget it. He used to say that if students first read the lesson themselves then its long lasting and if they hear from the teacher, would remind it for some time and then forget it forever. If the student would not read the lessons then some other used to do that and Hazrat Sahib would say,” Better was to you sent to the borders to get martyred; incapable,

nonsense, irresponsible” If the student would read some extra dot during reading then used to say at times that you think of the fly’s remains as a dot also. In youth, had a stick in hand as decribed by Hazrat Maulana Qari Abdur Razzaq Sahib Naqshbandi Mujadaddi Hamidi, Skeikh ul Hadith, Rukan ul Islam Hyderabad University, “Hazrat Sahib R.A used to move his stick to the head of the lazy and dull student and say that work hard else your skull would be crushed.” This is the reason that the narrator had to read all lessons carefully and those lessons are memorized till now. During the study of ‘Uloom e Naqlia’, he told us so deep points that the grandeur of Allah and Rasool S.A.W flourished in us and the touch of tassawwuf was an added advantage. He used to call the students out of routine work asking if they had completed the lesson and then used to give the news paper to them to read saying that the news papers are there for you students in Madarasah to enhance your reading and speaking power of Urdu. Also it would provide the updates of current affairs and enrich the political consciousness. This is the reason that the students of Madrasah Khair ul Muad take active participation in religious and political activities apart from being capable religious scholars. At the time of Sunni conference Multan, the first country wide convention of ‘ Anjuman Talibah e Madaris Arabia’ was held in Multan and was presided by Hazrat Sahib R.A, also patronized it apart from providing space. This is the result of the training given by Hazrat Sahib R.A that many of his students in many cities have distinct place in religious and political grounds. So it can be said that he is still ruling the hearts of many people even today. These people are devoted like him and always prove to be standing tall against all wrongs in the matters of religion.

Once Hazrat Shah Ahmed Noorani came and Hazrat Sahib introduced to him about the Madrasah that the specialty of this institution is this that all the teachers of Dars-e- Nizami are also from the same Madrasah and also from the faculty of ‘Hifz-o-Nazira Quran’, three out of four teachers are also from the same institution. Hazrat Noorani sahib was very glad to hear that. Following are some of the famous students of Hazrat Sahib R.A otherwise more than fifty thousand students completed their education of ‘Hifz-o-Nazira Quran’ under super vision of Hazrat Sahib R.A and about two thousands of the students got their certifications of ‘Uloom-e-Arabia Deenia’ as per Dars-e-Nizami.

These are few names of important students in my mind whos contributions are evident every where otherwise thousands of the silent students of Hazrat Sahib R.A are serving the religion anonymously.

The message from Hazrat Sahib to all Sunni knowledge seeking students: he said that the students who doesn’t repeat and study upcoming lessons, cant reach the destination rather forgets everything after some time so it is compulsory for all the qualified students to teach teach afterwards for spreading the Deen. This practice increases knowledge and others also benefit from it. Otherwise the struggle of 8-qo years gets wasted and the mind tend to get rusty. That is the reason one hadith stresses that Seek knowledge from cradle till grave.

During Hindu Muslim aberrances when Hindus circled Rohtuk city and declination of Hindustan started, no Muslim could remained alive in Rohtuk. The news reached Raampur and the family of Hazrat Sahib R.A got worried too and his elder brother Wajid Ali even offered Khatm-e-Fatiha for him. Major Manzoor Ahmed Sahib of Rohtuk, a devotee of Hazrat Sahib R.A and currently settled in Karachi, arranged a military truck for Hazrat Sahib for Raampur. When this truck started for Raampur at Rohtuk, people stopped it and started crying bitterly and Hazrat Sahib was also left Rohtum with tears in eyes. This was a very touchy moment and melts down the heart. When he reached Raampur, everybody including his brother was surprised to see him.

“Hamid! Is that really you? What am I seeing. Is this a dream or reality?” Hazrat Sahib humbly told the whole story to his elder brother. Then he lived in Raampur and after wards was made the Shaikh-ul-Tafseer of Madrasah Aaliya Raampur. Muslims of Rohtuk came to Multan but their affiliation with Hazrat Sahib R.A remained the same. After repeated and affectionate requests from people, Hazrat Sahib R.A permanently shifted to Pakistan on 16th of November 1959 and once again took the charge of Madrasah Khair ul Muad. And silently served the Deen till 1970.

In 70s, anti Islamic system was being imported to Pakistan through foreign agents and changes were tried to be made in Islamic system. At this sensitive time, contentions like in Akbar rule were raising. In those circumstances, the citizens of Multan did many hunger strikes and after continuous struggle nominated Hazrat Sahib R.A as their leader against Bhutto as a representative of Islam. Multan became of fort of Islam again with the efforts of Hazrat Sahib R.A and anti Islamic factions got nullified but due to the traitors from the own side, Hazrat Sahib R.A couldn’t win by the margin of few votes. The affiliation of people with in and so called Islamists with anti Islamic groups was evident to the residents of Multan. Then at the time of this dictatorship, Hazrat Sahib R.A lead the people of Multan with full spirit. There were procession day in and day out and finally got rewarded by grace of Allah Almighty. After that Hazrat Sahib R.A never showed any inclination toward dictatorship and continued his religious works. All the opponents were crushed and no one had the courage to rise against the false. After seeing some favorable situation, elections were suddenly announced in 1977. People of Multan were worried foe choosing their leader and all the eyed looked at Hazrat Sahib R.A once again. Meanwhile the anti forces tried to get him out of the way, Hazrat Sahib rejected the offers of huge wealth from the opponents and his refusal to be silent for the perpetuity of Islam made the cruel astonished. There were

threats of getting arrested but all this couldn’t be actualized and Hazrat Sahib R.A remained solid as a rock. People compelled him to come in front for the sake of truth. Many people came from all over the country including Noorani Mian sahib but Hazrat Sahib refused. After so many requests and after Istikhara, he accepted. He meditated to seek guidance of Hazrat Mujaddid sahib R.A. He accepted upon some divine decree of Allah almighty. It was January of 1977, every one used to come and he used to listen to him carefully and humbly excused. Meanwhile prayed to Allah and kept on observing and analyzing the situation. Probably on 8th or 9th January me (the writer) and Hazrat Sahib R.A were sitting alone in Daar-ul-Hadith and were discussing about the administrative issue when we heard loud slogans out side. Hazrat Sahib R.A asked me to check that what had happened. A saw a big procession coming from Chowk Murad raising slogans. Then those people silently entered masjid and then came to Daar-ul-Hadith. They all circled Hazrat Sahib R.A on which he got worried also. These were many notables, social workers like Abdul Maalik Sahib, Aqeel Siddiqi, wilayat Hussain Gerdezi, Irfan Ahmed Ansari and many others from different walks of life whom I didn’t recognize. They requested Hazrat Sahib that in this cruel rule, no one could represent Islam except him. They insisted that Islamic norms and values were made fun of but Hazrat Sahib asked them to excuse him. People raised slogans that this would not happen and he had to step forward. Writer, who was near him, couldn’t control his emotions and requested him crying that you have to take the initiative as this was the matter of existence of Islam. While crying and with tearful eyes, I myself raised the hands of Hazrat Sahib R.A like in benediction. Hazrat Sahib R.A did supplications and slogans of Allah hu Akbar were raised there. After a while three different procession also arrived with the same appeal to Hazrat Sahib R.A. After this acceptance of Hazrat Sahib, the city atmosphere was changed-----

There was jubilation at the faces of people thinking that the things would be all fine then. And even the opponents were also happy that Hazrat Sahib R.A should step forward so that they could get some fame too. After that Hazrat Sahib R.A called on the notables of the city and individually took their opinions. We used to guard and provide information from outside. Processions were not allowed in those days but still all the things started to go on. Political demonstrations were not allowed but still in form of a procession, Hazrat Sahib R.A along with Khizer Hayat sahib went to local courts for submission of papers. Opponents also arrived their raising slogans which made our supporters angry but our leaders saved people from any kind of trouble and unpleasant incident. Hazrat Sahib established an election office in ‘Choori Saraey bazar’, deputed Syed Dabeer Ali Shah sahib as secretary and an election committee was formed with office. Syed Dabeer sahib proved his God gifted capabilities and affection for Hazrat Sahib R.A in form of his devotion for this cause and gathered huge appreciation. He used to coordinate for all programs for Hazrat Sahib R.A. His efforts for the campaign of Hazrat Sahib R.A and work for Multan is highly recognized. During curfew when people were facing problems of bread and butter, Shah Sahib made ‘Bait al Maal’ on directions of Hazrat Sahib R.A and tons of free flour was distributed to the poor every day. One family had not all members of Islamic mind except of one boy having respect and devotion for Hazrat Sahib R.A and his parents and siblings used to defame Islamic scholars. When he got the flour from the office, went back and told every one about the unbiased ness of Hazrat Sahib R.A and passion to serve people. This was an example of practically following Islam. Hazrat Sahib R.A delivered lots of speeches to describe the ideology of Islam. People refrained going to any such procession where Hazrat Sahib R.A was not there despite the presence of well known political leaders saying that their

purpose was to go and see the Hazrat Sahib and get harmony with in themselves. One of the biggest political leader of Multan gained huge acclaim and respect by going in streets for Hazrat Sahib R.A otherwise nobody knew him before that. It was purely due to the efforts of the writer that Chowk Bazar was shuttered down on arrival of Hazrat Sahib R. A and crowd started getting suffocated due to rush and eagerness to kiss the hands of Hazrat Sahib R.A showing their respect. The whole city was hearing the slogans of Allah hu Akbar and whole city was flagged green. Hazrat Sahib R.A was running the campaign and Khizer Hayat Sahib helped the campaign in other cities also. Even one day, I saw the letter of Nawabzada Nasarullah Sahib’s letter to Hazrat Sahib R.A asking him to help about some people from Rohtuk were opposing in Khan garh. Hazrat Sahib R.A immediately some persons from the same community to help him to succeed.

Another unforgettable event occurred in Feburary when Hazrat Sahib R.A went to Bahawalpur Sakhan and at 11 or 12 at night, a rickshaw came from Jamat Islami in city and announced that Hazrat Sahib R.A got injured in the procession (though the procession of Jamat Islami was held in Nawan Shehr). Every one got so angry and marched toward the ground where demonstration was held having sticks, swords or even knives in their hands. The crowd was of more than fifty thousands, ladies and children crying having lost the hope of life. Meanwhile Hazrat Sahib R.A heard the news and came their to show people that he was all right. This calmed the protestors. S.P Haluku Khan who was sent specially to Multan by Bhutto to gain control on city: people started marching toward his house which was three miles away.

He came out greatly puzzled in night dress, worried to see such a huge crowd and suggested that some representatives may be sent with him inside to discuss the matter. Suddenly a brave man cam in front and told him about the incident of Nawan Shehr procession where people fled to the near by masjid which was burnt resulting in damage to many Quran Majid also and if justice in true sense would not be practiced then the people would made the time of 1947 come again in action. After this, Halaku Khan (DSP Asghar Khan) immediately gave orders and went on site to file a complaint but afterwards to one was arrested. If Hazrat Sahib R.A had not stopped the masses then Might be Multan would had been turned to Ashes in Februray 1977 and the blood of innocent citizens would had been on those cruels’ heads.

Second time, at Chowk Shah Abbas procession at noon, stones were thrown at a distance of 200 meters and the rumor was spread that Hazrat Sahib R.A had got injured. Hearing this, all the shops got closed: people went toward the place of incidence to tackle the situation but on the way saw car of Hazrat Sahib R.A and eventually after seeing him got satisfied that he was not hurt. This had made such a long precession from ‘Hussain Agahi’ till ‘Ghanta ghar chowk’, which went straight to commissioner house demanding such incidents to be stopped immediately and the things to be run democratically.

On 7th March, at the time of elections, at the suggestion of Muhammad Rasheed sahib, a team carrying batons was made to look over the misconducts during elections but still there was misconducts during polling. Our people got injured in presence of police but they opposed all this uptill their might. Along with this Sheikh Khizer Hayat was also kept an eye on to succeed. Our vans and trucks used to reach wherever they needed any help. And eventually when the result was declared at night then

despite of all the misconducts and cruelties, Hazrat Sahib and Sheikh Khizer Hayat stood successful by big margins. Perhaps as per Hazrat Sahib R.A or Noorani Mian sahib that two seats of Multan were actually snatched from opponents and this was result of immense struggle in Multan division. Only few seats were acquired and due to the misconducts, central committee announced the ‘Tehreeek e Nizaam e Mustafa’ but nobody accepted this membership and didn’t go to assembly hall despite of being called and refused all offers, wealth and high posts. Provincial elections were boycotted and the movement was launched on 14th March, 1977. From 7th till 14th March, protests were done for misconducts during elections. And 17th march was the start day of ‘Tehreeek e Nizaam e Mustafa’. Special arrangements were done in Multan city and after Asr prayers all businesses were closed. Many passionate speeches were made in Jamia Masjid Phool and Hazrat Sahib R.A was presiding that. After speeches, people were advised that the movement was for peaceful purpose and as police had blocked all the roads so even then there should be no combustibility shown. And all shops, government offices and banks should not be damaged being national assets. Due to the space limitation, the participants were listening to the speeches and taking part in procession in distributed chunks around Jamia Masjid Phool and Chowk bazaar. When the procession started moving then it was sight worth seeing. Hazrat Sahib R.A was leading along with other leaders and when procession stopped at Hussain agahai, Hazrat Sahib R.A performed Dua and I stood beside the police in nearby street where magistrate Chaudhry Talib Hussain was announcing that processions were against the law. Some youngsters who were in thousands came out having theirs shirts in hands and mingled up with the police but by grace of Allah, no reaction occurred and on requests they left the place. The administration was ashamed of their helplessness. Next day, the procession had to reach Lohari gate

The same program was held at Masjid Phool and when the procession reached Lohari gate via Hannu ka chajja, there was tear gas shelling. Hazrat Sahib R.A was at the front and shells were being fired from roof tops which made Hazrat Sahib R.A suffer badly. Hazrat Sahib R.A revived his breathe in a nearby shop of a doctor and afterwards the return was announced and procession went back with Hazrat Sahib R.A. Then it was a routine of every day that the procession used to start and on circular road police was found waiting resulting in clash. This hide and seek used to carry on till late night. The old city is located on a promontory and the bazaars are zigzag so the invaders could never made it inside city easily. This architecture was very helpful to us also. Police was afraid to come inside and on the way the had to face the children and ladies from the rooftops. They were very afraid of boiling waters and stones thrown at them so they couldn’t enter the fort. The movement in Multan was very organized as compared to other cities and day by day the passion and devotion of people for this cause and Hazrat Muhammad PBUH was increasing. It was only due to that soldier, excellent speaker and upfront leader so government decided to snub the movement by arresting Hazrat Sahib R.A. Firstly the local administration went against it and clarified that it would destroy Multan city. So the government understood that it would be a great incident so he should be arrested after making prior arrangements and things should be kept in control. As per all India radio, 50 thousands soldiers with 50 tanks and APCs surrounded the city before dawn in such a way that the outsiders thought that there was some military revolution taken place. But the actual thing was different as the matter was about an elderly pious person who had

nothing with him except Quran and Sunnah. And this was a big weapon for which all these arrangements were being done. Hazrat Sahib R.A told me (Ghulam Dastgir) that when he got up at the time of tahajjud prayers, he heard some sounds from the street, he looked down and found armed persons surrounding his house. Hence Hazrat Sahib R.A got it and put on new cloths, thanked God for all his blessings and started gathering his stuff for personal use. Hazrat Sahib R.A thought that he would get arrested silently else it would cost many lives of innocent people. This was told to me afterwards by Hazrat Sahib R.A. He woke all his family members, told them about the guests, gave some advices on which the family members got seriously worried. Hazrat Sahib R.A asked them not to worry about him as the same had been the fate of many on the path of Islam. Meanwhile Fajr time arrived but no one had the courage to enter the house and this news spread all over the city. Companions of Hazrat Sahib R.A like Dr. Badar Khurshid and many others arrived and they asked the officials to immediately remove the police force from the streets otherwise they would never be able to achieve their goal and Hazrat Sahib R.A would himself go to Hussain Agahi and that whole thing would be done civilly. Meanwhile the arrest orders were demanded which couldn’t be produced and immediately were made ready by the police. The forces shifted to circular road while chowk malik Murad, Masji Hanafia and surrounding streets got filled up with people. Hazrat Sahib R.A went to Masjid and made a speech to people saying , “he is working for a noble cause of realization of Nizaam-e-Mustafa. People come and go in this world but the cause and mission are ever lasting. He advised people to remain peaceful, be affectionate and friendly to eachother and continue the movement.

The example of Imam-e-Azam R.A, Hazrat Mujaddid Alif Sani R.A, Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal R.A and above all is the incident of Imam Hussain A.S that all these faced troubles for the religion even sacrificing their lives.” Hearing all this people staring srying bitterly the mosque and Chowk Malik Murad. They couldn’t imagine living their lives without him and many were smashing their heads with pillars of Mosque but Hazrat Sahib continued asking them to be patient and he went on with great dignity. The small distance between Chowk Malik Murad and Chowk Bazar was covered in an hour and then on the open jeep of S.P, the distance to Hussain Aagahi was covered in one and a half hour. People laid on raod blocking the jeep and pleaded Hazrat Sahib R.A not to leave them. Police and military tanks were at Hussain Aagahi chowk. One devotee of Hazrat Sahib R.A held the shirt of SP Asghar Khan and expostulated that all that was because of him. Hearing that, his eyes were also wet and he said that he had been requesting his higher ups and negating this but this was the last ultimatum. And he had no other option otherwise he would had suspended from service and had no idea of the next appointed person that how would he do all this. Hazrat Sahib R.A was on jeep and strange scenes were seen at Hussain Aagahi. The distance from Hussain Aggahi to Lohari Gate was covered in hours. People laid on the roads stopping the tanks and many got injured also but no one thought of the helpless crowd and all eyes were shedding tears. Army personals three times warned people t stay behind the restricted area otherwise they would shoot them but people used to cross it every time. Seeing the behavior of army, Hazrat Sahib R.A said that who ever was with him, should go away immediately. So people gave way and the jeep went off the view speedily. Every heart was sad for his departure. The same night, took place a huge protest in which many protestors got injured and some were martyred. The movement got impulsive and other leaders couldn’t control it so huge damages occurred. After two years it was revealed that those brutal people didn’t even gave water to Hazrat Sahib R.A for 48 hours after arrest.

And secondly gave mental and physical torture. He was kept in a cage like room which was not protected from cold weather even. Any officer of jail passing by used to ask him sarcastically that Maulana! If you need anything, then just let him know. But even if Hazrat Sahib R.A would had asked for something; those brutal people would had no sympathy about it. Dr. Badar Sahib filed a writ in highcourt so the orders were issued for Hazrat Sahib’s release. After almost 19 days, Hazrat Sahib R.A reached Multan with honor and nobility after getting released. There were thousands cars, trucks, buses, motor bikes making a procession of many miles, breaking the brutal laws through out the journey. That scene would always be kept in memory till death. This release remembered the incidents of 3.4 centuries back in history when Hazrat Mujaddid R.A revolted against Akbar and Jehangir beating the falsehood. This pride never embraced anyone during the era in between. So a new history was made and Hazrat Sahib R.A will always live among us for his achievements and high stature.

After that Hazrat Sahib had the routine to pray and make a speech before the precession and afterwards would go to Dar-ul-Hadith. So the writer used to get special moments with Hazrat Sahib R.A for soothing and relaxing his feet. At Maghrib time, the protestors used to come to come to mosque and give report of the proceedings of that day. Then we had started enjoying the processions as police and security agencies (whom we called as hindu force) won’t come out of their buildings to stop anyone. If anyone would try to come out was revoked by the stones and slogans. So the processions were made all over the city and no one had the courage to go against Hazrat Sahib R.A. The government and people used to go as per orders of Hazrat Sahib R.A who was having a moderate policy. He told the authorities that the processions would be made but took the responsibility that no official institute or property would be damaged. Hazrat Sahib saved the lives of many spies of police otherwise people would have killed them. Also many times, the snatched guns and helmets were returned back to security agencies on orders of Hazrat Sahib R.A.

Police didn’t enter the city during protest and more surprisingly, there were no incidents of theft or crime in the city as they were against the orders of Hazrat Sahib R.A even that there was no price hike during curfews. Police had to take permission to enter the city and the security was provided to police. So practically Hazrat Sahib R.A was ruling the city and the government had to take his consent before doing anything. This doughty and stature of our Hazrat Sahib R.A made him the un crowned king of Multan city which had not happened through centuries.

Another distinction owned by Hazrat Sahib R.A was at the time when Multan city was not in control of police at the incident of 14 May when almost 38 security men got killed in riots and there was fight with barricades made at both ends. Army had to take over the city and the army general had to first take the permission from Hazrat Sahib R.A on which Hazrat Sahib R.A put forward some conditions:

a) Army should enter the city tomorrow after fajr.b) No one from common public would be arrested for protesting.c) No house searching would be done as that would extinguish the already raged public.

Army general accepted all the peace keeping suggestions and next morning when they entered the city, he first came to meet Hazrat Sahib R.A. This meeting was held probably at the residence of Sheikh Khurshid sahib. Hazrat Sahib offered them Halwa puri and one of the protestors said that you opened fire at us and we would greet you with halwa. The general laughed at it and afterwards army didn’t do any administrative act in the city even Hazrat Sahib gave a message to people to cooperate with army from mosques. Also the public was requested to forget the bad memories of 14 th May. Then public welcomed the army and the slogans of ‘Long live the Pak Army’ were raised throughout the city. The far sightedness of Hazrat Sahib R.A was acknowledged by all otherwise there would had been huge bloodshed in the city.

Getting dishearted from the result of events from 14th May to 24th may, I said to Hazrat Sahib R.A that the cruel rulers couldn’t last long but Bhutto was still imposed on us with all his brutality. It was a strange thing totally against the nature. Hazrat Sahib R.A replied that I was right but in such cases Allah Almighty wants to escalate the status of humans going through such phases and the brutalities of the opponents were actually enhancing the movement of Nizaam-e-Mustafa. The sins and misdeeds of the common men were being paid off and it would ignite the affiliation of commoners toward religion. All this would not last for long rather things would change in near future though having no apparent indication. But Allah Almighty is the best Planner of all.

Afterwards the movement of Nizaam-e-Mustafa flourished all over the country and I would be right to say that for whole seven years the forces of truth kept on opposing the cruel rulers. After lots of sacrifices, finally the nation got rid of the brutal rule on Tuesday, 5th July, 1977. The army took over and the country was saved from getting divided. Hazrat Sahib R.A remained optimistic about the new army leader and listened to the speech of the new ruler in Dar-ul-Hadith of Madrasah Khair ul Muad at 7pm. When his speech to nation started with ‘Bismillah’ and ‘Nahmaduhu wa nusalle ala Rasool e hil Karim’, Hazrat Sahib R.A’s face starting glowing with pleasure; smiled and said that he seemed to a Muslim and insha Allah would deliver a good speech because he made a good start. During the speech, Hazrat Sahib R.A got jubilated and said that if it was so as described in speech then the implementation of Nizam-e-Mustafa was near and it was the time to pray to Allah for the courage in that regard and may Allah shower His mercy on Muslims.

Day of thankfulness was celebrated all over Multan division on Friday, 8th of July 1977 and lots of prayers were made in Salat–e- Juma. Hazrat Sahib R.A said on 9 th of July that Bhutto was catastrophic for the nation from Allah imposed on us due to our wrongs and misdeeds. When the nation redeemed its sins by sacrifices then mercy of Allah showered on people and it was the time to practically follow the preaching of Islam.

The achievement of 5th July should not make us forget the past rather the struggle should continue with full might so that the Nizaam-e-Mustafa may be implemented as soon as possible. Otherwise all these sacrifices would go astray and the coming generations would never forgive us and it will be a source of shame in front of Allah also. Few months later, I (the writer) saw a dream that all the national leaders were gathered in a room and Mufti Mehmood Sahib recited Holy Quran which was not correct so I did the correction. And Hazrat Sahib R.A did the translation. Hazrat Sahib R.A said that Allah is giving another chance and if these people would not the right things then the end will be very sad. It is a test and may result in anarchy. Same thing was also said by Hazrat Allama Kazmi Sahib at the Urs of Hazrat Baha ud Din Zakriya Multani, “Pakistan is going to face a insurgency: I pray and request you to pray for me too that Allah Almighty don’t let me see that. Allah Almighty may keep the companionship of scholars and leaders of Ahle Sunnat with us (Aameen). Otherwise the situation is clear to all. The nation

has been distanced from the implementation of Nizam-e-Mustafa and we all are equally responsible for it”.

It was due to Hazrat Sahib R.A that the followers of truth got respected in Multan. At the time of sunni conference in Multan, Hazrat Sahib had a close eye on the administrative issues and his associates helped him. When the final arrangements were being shaped up, Hazrat Sahib R.A attended a meeting with all the national leaders with me. It was just due to him that I had got a chance to attend such a high profile meeting. He used to keep me along during the important discussion with national leaders. And often used to say that he is with me and used to give important letters to me. Also asked me to write the answers of many important letters because due to Parkinsonism, he had difficulty in writing. Hazrat Sahib R.A presided over the first session of Sunni conference and said the ending prayers also. It was due to Hazrat Sahib R.A and Allama Kazmi sahib that such a big conference was held with such great arrangements which was not even possible for the government. The activities kept on going like that after the great achievement of sunni conference but his health started to deteriorate. . It happened due to the reason that in bahawalpur jail those cruel people didn’t even gave water to Hazrat Sahib R.A for 48 hours after arrest. And secondly gave mental and physical torture to a person who was already a patient of diabetes which started aggravating . He was kept alone in a cage like room which was not protected from cold weather even. He got for ablution and slipped after few steps resulting in a head injury. Afterwards he got a tumor in head and it was growing with time. It could not be cured. He was passionate but was unable to join the Raiwind conference. The citizens if Multan had reached there in large numbers and all the Muslims of the country missed his presence at the conference. There were special prayers for his health after every session. On 26 th March in Raiwind, I read Hazrat Sahib R.A’s interview in news paper ‘Aftab’ which made me worried, “Life is short and may Allah make Pakistan a fort of Nizam-e-Mustafa. The efforts should be continued and practice Quran and Sunnah”. I got hear broken as if the time was near to get departed from Hazrat Sahib R.A, started crying and discussed with many others. Came back to Multan and went to see Hazrat Sahib R.A. His condition was the same and was facing by many troubles. Diabetes, Cancer, constipation, flu and cough made him so weak. The health conditions forced him to revoke Imamat and teaching. Since 28 th March, 1977, the duty is being done by me in mosque. Always got ashamed of knowledge scarcity when used to deliver speech in front of Hazrat Sahib R.A. The conditions of Hazrat Sahib R.A made us to miss those inner dimensions of knowledge, hearing which we used to get satisfied. In Ramadan, Hazrat Sahib was not even able to walk to the mosque for prayer and some body used to help him to come to mosque. His feet used to scratch the ground while coming to mosque but had such an affiliation with Masjid Hanafia that he would come there from quite a distance. Due to extreme illness, started praying salah at home. Many times in masjid, used to fall while coming up from Sajdah. Once I saw his feet with some blood on it after Asr prayer so asked about it and he said,

“There is some blood there also. Actually got up for Fajr prayer and during coming up for Qayam, fell down and had a wound in shin”. I saw that wound and many times requested him that please pray while sitting but he replied that until he had even a little force to pray standing, he would do that otherwise it would not be accepted. He got better in the month of Zeqadh and Hazrat Sahib R.A finalized his will and it seemed as if he was alright. At the eve of Eid-al-adha, he was very happy and came for prayer with any

support, had handshakes with many people and asked them about their well being. But the imamat was done by me. Meanwhile, Hazrat Wali Muhammad Shah, Chaadar walay came and he put a beautiful garland of 100 rupees note around the neck of Hazrat Sahib R.A. In his speech, he said that people of Multan! You have two moons of Pakistan: Hazrat Hamid Ali Khan R.A and second one is Allama Kazmi Sahib. May Allah keep the companionship of these with us. Following the footstep of Hazrat Ali R.A, I will fast for three days for the good health of Hazrat Sahib R.A. This garland is a symbol of joy otherwise I could sacrifice millions for Hazrat Sahib R.A. Hazrat Wali Muhammad Sahib is a pious man of these times and is successor of Hazrat Jamaat Ali Shah Muhaddis Ali puri. Everyone got excited and raised slogans hearing the words of good health of Hazrat Sahib R.A from him from. Special Dua were made after prayers and people started greeting each other. On Eid day, commissioner of Multan, col. NIsar Ahmed Sahib came to meet Hazrat Sahib R.A with his children and brought some sweets too. He told that whenever general Zia talked to him, he also used to inquire about Hazrat Sahib R.A health. And last time, he offered, if Hazrat Sahib R.A agrees then his can be treated both with in or out side country. Hazrat Sahib R.A thanked him and said that his companions would be more worried so its better to continue treatment at home. After Eid al Azha, Hazrat Sahib R.A condition got deteriorated due to increase in diabetes and convulsions. Due to increasing tumor, even he couldn’t talk. When the condition got worst he even couldn’t talk through hints and signs. Oral intake was also reduced, spasms appeared on hands and face which caused pain on which Hazrat Sahib R.A used to moan and it was very painful for us also. On 3rd December 1979, chest infection started and breathing got difficult also. Afterwards a machine was brought from Nishter hospital to drain mucus and it was used till end. Hiccups got aggravated and meanwhile he got a heart attack. Hazrat Sahib R.A remained un conscious for 50 hours and telex were sent to all relatives regarding his condition. After getting conscious, he was told that Hazrat Maulana Sahibzada Muhammad Allah Khan Sahib custodian of Khanqah Inayatia Raampur had arrived but couldn’t get the permission for Multan at that time. The old affection for Sahibzada made him anxious to meet him and Hazrat Sahib R.A kept on weeping for many days. May be this was due to the reason that Hazrat Sahib R.A had told me that Sahibzada was invited long time back and if Hazrat Sahib R.A would had feeling fine at that time , would had done lots of arrangements for his arrival.

From the start of December, oral intake was stopped due to so many diseases at the same time and the doctors put a tube in stomach through which only milk was passed in. The tube was induced through nose for breathing. The tube for food was intact till end and at Asr time in December 79, his condition got extremely bad making the blood pressure reduced to 80. Many people volunteered for their services along with devotees and his sons main Mohammad Nasir and ---------. The duties of attendants were changed for day and night times. At that time doctor Hayat, principal Nister medical college and doctor Iftikhar, professot Nishter college had shown extreme devotion to Hazrat Sahib R.A. They used to come very regularly for checkups but in my view doctor Badar Qureshi got the maximum chance of providing services. He used to stay with Hazrat Sahib R.A at home mostly and very rarely went to his clinic: did all the checkups and diagnosis along with feeding the milk to Hazrat Sahib through tube: used to contact dr. Hayat Zafar or dr. Iftikhar Raja for consultation if required and prescribed medicines after their advice. Dr. badar, his father Hafiz Muhammad Umer, Late hafiz Bashir, Late Khurshid sahib and late Haji Allah Din were some of the folks who served Hazrat Sahib R.A so much they would always be reminded and would get rewarded for that. Many times the doctors didn’t take the consultancy fees and upon

asking they used to say that is not he our respected elder? May Allah keep them happy and redeem their deeds. Like Dr. Mohsin didn’t ever take any charges and the shops from where the medicines were brought, never charged also. The owner of the shop on getting the news waived off three months rent. And even gave discount for further four shops for 7-8 thousand rupees. These are few examples of people’s affection and devotion otherwise there are many like these.

On 11th December, when custodian of Raampur arrived, started crying bitterly seeing Hazrat Sahib R.A. he said with hiccups “Hamid! You are in this condition”. Hazrat Sahib R.A couldn’t speak or get up yet held him with one hand which could move and kept on looking at him for half an hour. Hazrat Kazmi sahib also used to come very often and that night, Hazrat Kazmi Sahib also arrived. He used to cry seeing Hazrat Sahib R.A and that night same thing happened and kept on praying. Doctors said to Sahibzada Sahib that the treatment was in progress since and now you should pray for his health as that seemed to be the last option. Special prayers were held in all over the country for the health of Hazrat Sahib R.A specially in Multan city the Zikr of Ayat-e-Karima was organized and was done daily in mosque of Hazrat Sahib R.A and after that special prayers used to hold. A man came from suburbs on 27 th

January and told that he saw Hazrat Sahib R.A in dream along with Hazoor Muhammad PBUH. There was a groups of people with them also. Hazoor PBUH went to mosque of Gurr mandi and kissed the walls. There were cloth patches on the dress of Hazoor PBUH. People tried to shake hands with Hazoor PBUH but Hazrat Sahib R.A stopped them. Then Hazoor Akram PBUH called the Azan and Hazrat Sahib R.A did the iqamat and Hazoor PBUH lead the prayers. Then that man had a pause and said that it was a good dream but we got the point that now we had few days of our guest.

On Monday, 17th January, 18th Safar, 1400 Hijri at after noon, Hazrat Sahib R.A had blood pressure problem and dr. Badar Sahib asked his son Muhamamd Mian sahib to get some blood for him and he had not came back yet, at 0310 pm, that sun of Wilayat left the world after long illness. There was mourning in Multan for three days. There were strange unforgettable scenes of affection for Hazrat Sahib R.A were seen. Huge number of common people along with notables and scholars of Ahle Sunnat came from all over the country to take part in funeral. Perhaps it was the biggest funeral prayers of a pious man in the history of Pakistan. Approximately there were many times more people than those gathered during Sunni conference. The whole Multan fort was full of public. Hazrat Allama Kazmi Shah Sahib lead the funeral prayers of Hazrat Sahib R.A. Before prayers, Noorani Sahib, Niazi Sahib and Kazmi sahib said their words of appreciations for Hazrat Sahib R.A and promised to work for national survival. So Hazrat Sahib R.A had broken all political barriers after his departure as high level civil and military leadership along with people from other schools of thought attended the funeral. Hazrat Sahib R.A was buried in Qasim bagh fort, adjacent to Hazrat Peer Darbar delhlvi. There were uncountable Zikr sessions on third day along with hundreds of times, Quran was ended. The establishment of Hamis menorial fund was announced with the amount of ten lac rupees to make the memories of Hazrat Sahib R.A ever lasting. The said amount was immediately collected from public pledges and its very rare to have such an amount been collected so quickly in a precession.

From his departure from this world uptill now, there is recitation of Quran at the sacred mausoleum and people come to visit from far off places. After his departure, Hazrat Sahib R.A is seen so many times in dreams by his devotees. One of my age fellow friend, Mehboob Ali saw him in dream in our mosque at

time of Asr. Hazrat Sahib R.A shaked hands with people after namaz as usual. Mehboob sahib told that he was standing astonishingly because Hazrat Sahib R.A had departed from us but he was alive with us. In the meanwhile, Hazrat Sahib R.A stood up and held the hand of Mehboob sahib and said that Wali Allah don’t have common death but they remain alive. And after death the pious men have more intense observation on people.

The attention of Hazrat Sahib R.A are still there and are still being felt by me. Many times he gave advised after his death about the future endeavors. Hazrat Sahib R.A had great kindheartedness for me that other students used to admire that. He deputed me for many administrative issues of Madrasah like keys of library, bank issues and distribution of salaries were done by me under his supervision. During the vacations of Ramadan, I used to be with him and if ever I used to get absent he used to say that he was waiting for me. When ever Hazrat Sahib R.A was on tours, I used to take the messages from national leaders and on the basis of my knowledge about the matter, used to reply them accordingly. I used to brief Hazrat Sahib R.A about that upon which he used to get very happy. Since 18 th June, 1977, used to record the daily routine of Hazrat Sahib R.A on request of many friends and companions and this was continued till end. Many times he himself read the diary and told me about some important events to get them recorded. I was so close to him that many times people used to think of me as Hazrat Sahib

R.A’s son and even in many correspondences, I was narrated as his son. Infect he is really my spiritual father and gave me more love and affection than real father.

Due to relation with Hazrat Sahib R.A, I was chosen as the president by religious students in a country wide convention of students union of madaris-e- Arabia during Sunni conference Multan. The affairs of mosque were handed over to me and it was told to every one that they should contact me for all matters. This is the reason that my opinion is always given importance. May Allah keep all the devotees of Hazrat Sahib blessed. Hazrat Sahib R.A never took salary from mosque even used to give donations regularly. He said that if he was not the imam even then you people have to say the prayers. Always used to wear turban during prayers and gave his turban to me six months before his departure after wearing on his own head as I didn’t know how to wear a turban. It is kept safely with me. Its hard for me to express Hazrat Sahib R.A’s affection. Its was all due to his kindness otherwise we had no similarity or comparison. Im sorry for my sins, looking forward to distinguished religious personalities for success in life hereafter and acquiescence of Allah Almighty.
