Historical Perspective & Background of ESCO in Malaysia

1. MAESCO was registered with theMalaysian Registrar of Society inSeptember 2000

2. Incorporated in conjunction with thelaunching of the Malaysian IndustrialEnergy Efficiency Improvement Project(MIEEIP) by a Government’simplementation agency, PTM (EnergyCentre of Malaysia)

3. The MIEEIP components includes ESCODevelopment Programs and ESCOparticipation in EE TechnologyDemonstration Projects

4. Industrial was chosen as the sector inwhich the greatest commercial andenvironmental impact could be achieved

MAESCO’s Constitutional Objective

1. To develop recognized ESCO Business incollaboration with Government andPrivate Sector

2. To actively promote the activity of costreduction and efficiency standards ofthe industrial and commercial sector
