BAB I.

PENDAHULUAN

1. Latar Belakang

Komposit matriks polimer (PMC) merupakan material komposit yang sering

dipakai. Serat yang banyak dipakai adalah serat karbon dan gelas, sedangkan

untuk matriks adalah jenis termoset. Material komposit memiliki sifat “tailor

made” yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk membuat sifat yang mendekati isotrop

hingga sangat tidak isotrop sesuai dengan beban yang akan bekerja pada suatu

konstruksi. Maka digunakanlah metode yang dapat menganalisa material

komposit agar diperoleh kontruksi yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan.

2. Tujuan

1. Menentukan parameter metode teori laminat klasik.

2. Menentukan nilai konstanta teknik, stress, strain, dan safety factor berdasarkan

teori laminat klasik.

TEORI DASAR

1. Komposit

Material komposit merupakan gabungan secara makroskopis dari dua jenis

material atau lebih. Komponen pembentuk material komposit berupa matriks dan

penguat (reinforcement) yang biasanya tersiri dari serat. Keunggulan material

komposit yaitu memiliki sifat mekanik spesifik yang tinggi dan arah orientasi

penguat yang dapat diatur sesuai arah pembebanan sehingga diperoleh konstruksi

yang diinginkan. Berdasarkan jenis penguatnya klasifikasi dapat dibagi menjadi

tiga: particle reinforced composites; fiber reinforced composites; dan structural

reinforced composites.

Fokus dari percobaan kali ini adalah kompist yang terbentuk dari laminat yang

berasal dari lamina. Lamina adalah satu lapis pelat datar/lengkung dari

unidirectional fiber atau woven fabrics dalam matrix dengan tebal umumnya

0,125 inch. Sedangkan laminat adalah pelat yang terdiri dari dua atau lebih lamina

yang disusun dengan berbagai orientasi yang berbeda.

Penyusunan lamina digolongkan dalam empat jenis:

1. Laminat simetris adalah laminat yang memiliki karakteristik setiap lapis

memiliki cerminan pada jarak yang sama dari midplane terhadap midplane

dan tidak ada coupling antara gaya-gaya normal dan momen tekuk dengan

deformasi normal/geser.

2. Laminat asimetris adalah laminat yang memiliki layer-layer yang disusun

dengan orientasi bolak-balik, masing-masing +q dan –q dari arah

prinsipalnya.sehingga memiliki coupling, salah satunya berbentuk pre-

twisting.

3. Laminat antisimetris adalah laminat yang memiliki susunan orientasi

berkebalikan terhadap midplane.

4. Laminat cross-ply adalah laminat yang disusun berselang-seling antara

laminanya. Sebagai contoh urutan 0/90/90/0 untuk laminat simetris atau

0/90/0/90 untuk laminat tidak simetris.

2. GENLAM

GENLAM merupakan perangkat lunak yang digunakan untuk memodelkan

laminat jika diberikan pembebanan, baik mekanik maupun higrotermal.

Pemodelan GENLAM menggunakan parameter-parameter seperti jenis material

dari lamina, jumlah tumpukan lamina, maupun orientasi dari susunan lamina.

Sehingga diketahui kondisi kegagalan yang dapat terjadi. Ditunjukan dengan:

BAB IV.

ANALISIS DATA

1. Sifat-Sifat Elastitas

a. AS-3501 (02,902)s dengan AS-3501 (0,90)2sKedua jenis material komposit ini mempunyai jenis yang sama namun susunannya berbeda. Hal ini tidak berpengaruh terhadap Inplane Constants keduanya, yang artinya keduanya sama. Flexural Constants yang berbeda. Hal ini sudah pasti karena perbedaan orientasi penyusunan laminanya

b. Scotch-ply UD dengan Scotch-ply (0.90)2Pada jenis material komposit ini dengan susunan yang sudah diberikan terdapat persamaan antara Inplane Constants dan Flexural Constants masing-masing jenis material dengan masing-masing susunanannya. Hal ini dikarenakan perbedaan orientasi penyusunan laminanya.

2. Pembebanan dan Tegangan

1.a Scotch-ply UD

Tegangan dan regangan yang terjadi pada material ini merata pada setiap lapisan.

Hal ini dikarenakan teganan dan regangan pada jenis material komposit ini

didistribusikan secara merata. Tidak terdapat pembebanan akibat beban puntir

(arah 6)

1.b Scotch-ply (0,±45,90,0,±45,90)

Tegangan yang terjadi pada material ini juga merata pada setiap lapisan walaupun

orientasi lapisannya berbeda. hal ini dikarenakan tegangan dan regangan pada

jenis material ini didistribusikan secara merata walaupun lapisannya mempunyai

orientasi yang berbeda.

1.c IM6 epoxy (0,±45,90,0,±45,90)

Tegangan dan regangan yang terjadi pada material ini tidak merata pada setiap

lapisan.

a. Pembebanan tarik biaksial masing-masing 10 N/mm

Arah 1 Regangan dan tegangan terdistribusi merata pada setiap lapisan.

Nilai regangan negative sedangkan nilai tegangan positif.

Arah 2 Regangan dan tegangan juga terdistribusi merata.

Nilai regangan pada arah 2 bernilai positif.

Regangan yang terjadi searah dengan arah pembebanan.

Arah 6 Tidak terjadi tegangan dan regangan geser pada pembebanan yang

diberikan.

b. Pembebanan geser 10 N/mm

Arah 1 Regangan normal yang terjadi bernilai negative.

Regangan yang terjadi tidak searah dengan pembebanan yang

diberikan.

Tegangan normal pada arah 1 bernilai 0.

Arah 2 Regangan normal yang terjadi bernilai positif.

Tidak terdapat tegangan normal pada arah ini.

Arah 6 Regangan dan tegangan geser yang terjadi pada arah ini terdistribusi

merata pada semua lapisan dan bernilai positif.

Terjadi regangan dan tegangan geser yang terjadi searah dengan arah

pembebanan.

c. Momen bending M1 sebesar 10 N

Arah 1 Regangan dan tegangan normal yang terjadi bernilai paling tinggi pada

1. Teori Laminat Klasik (Classical Laminate Theorem) merupakan metode

untuk menganalisa material komposit berupa laminat secara makromekanik.

Parameter yang dipengaruhi oleh pemilihan material komposit dan cara

penyusunannya:

a. Kekakuan

b. Distribusi tegangan

c. Perilaku kegagalan

2. Diperoleh nilai konstanta teknik, stress, stress, strain, dan safety factor yang

dipengaruhi oleh parameter pemilihan material berdasar teori laminat klasik.

Untuk menentukan nilai FPF yang terjadi berdasarkan nilai R-int yang paling

kecil dari lapisan. Untuk menentukan nilai LPF yang terjadi berdasarkan nilai R-

deg yang paling kecil dari lapisan. Untuk menentukan kekuatan ultimate

ditentukan dari R-int dan R-deg yang paling besar dari tiap lapisannya, lalu

menentukan besarnya σ1, σ2, σ6 dari lapisan tersebut. Nilai tersebutlah yang

menjadi kekuatan tarik dari material tersebut.

Material komposit merupakan gabungan dari dua atau lebih material dimana sifat-

sifat dari maerial pembentuknya masih terlihat secara makro.

FPF = First Ply Failure (kegagalan yang terjjadi dimana matriks sudah

rusak ketika diberi pembebanan, tapi serat masih bisa menahan
