ABSTRACT I carried out my internship at Koperasi Permodalan Melayu Negeri Johor (KPMNJ) under the Information Technology Department. Under networking, I dealt with setting up, administering, maintaining and upgrading communication system, and also local area network and wide area network for the organization. The activities carried out included cable termination, setting up LAN’s, router configuration, printer configuration on network, basic networking software installation ( Cisco IOS). Under Web development, the field supervisor overviewed basic understanding of web technologies (client side, server side and databases) using Wordpress, databases management using MySQL. I was given a project to make a travel site using wordpress. Under computer maintenance and repair, I dealt with basic installation (RAM, HARDDISK, CD-ROM), basic operating system installation and activation i.e. windows xp, 7, 8, 10, system restoration, file recovery, data backup, Wi-Fi hotspot creation, assemble a personal desktop. Through work and experience, I attained networking, troubleshooting, interpersonal and research skill. The challenge faced include : lack of enough equipment, faulty equipment i.e. CD ROMs, RAM and crimping tool, poor internet connection, failure in troubleshooting for windows service failures, understanding new technical terms. In my conclusion internship at Koperasi Permodalan Melayu Negeri Johor was so productive with practical hand on skills attained from the different field supervisors. I recommend that We as students need to be taught much more of practical skills in class than theory and be given more time for practice.
1. INTRODUCTION Internship opportunity provides the students a great chance to relate their
theoretical knowledge with the competitive and tough real job market environment. Moreover, if the internship
period is within the bachelor program and the students have to return to the university after completing it, the
skills that they have developed during the internship help them to gain a more sound academic result. After
returning from internship the students get six months for preparing himself/herself for the company and their
future career. Koperasi Permodalan Melayu Negeri Johor provides that glorious opportunity to students of having
an internship within their bachelor program. I being a lucky ones to have an internship to the organization to
complete my internship. I was lucky to get the opportunity to complete my industrial training at Koperasi
Permodalan Melayu Negeri Johor (KPMNJ). KPMNJ is an organization that collecting capital among Malaysians
and investing in economics. Therefore Malaysians can unite to move in the economy. In return, they will get many

benefit in terms of dividends, bonuses and various benefits provided by KPMNJ. KPMNJ is involved in various
economies such as plantation, logging, stock investment, property, services, Ar-Rahnu, convenience stores and
tourism. Now, from the various experiences gained, KPMNJ strives to continue to move more economically. In
line with current economic developments, KPMNJ is confident of continuing to advance and achieve its goals.
a. Task Description / Responsibility During internship, there are several responsibility
and roles I have to do. For Example, write weekly report on all activities in the log book. Next, I
have to solve problem over ICT complaints that have been made by staff at Koperasi Permodalan
Melayu Negeri Johor. I also have to perform computer maintanence and repair. Weekly, I performed
the network internet problem and printer problem.
b. Services That Have Provided Other than that, I also was given a task from my supervisor
to make web-based system for KPMNJ's subsidiary Exectravel as my project during my internship.
The system’s name is Exectravel website. This system are built to upgrade the manual ways of staffs
in Exectravel to make an advertisement or promotion of their company. This system also will prevent
the use of excessive costs. Users can also get information about advertising or promotions made by
Exectravel. Beside that, user also can make package booking online. My project took 20 weeks to
complete during internship week.
2. PROJECT DETAIL KPMNJ is involved in various economies such as plantation, logging, stock
investment, real estate, services, Ar-Rahnu, convenience stores and tourism. Now, from the various experiences
gained, KPMNJ strives to continue to move more economically. Executive Travel & Tours (M) Sdn Bhd
(EXECTRAVEL) is a subsidiary of KPMNJ. EXECTRAVEL offers both inbound and outbound tours, umrah &
pilgrimage packages, airline ticket agents, ferry and cruise services, event management services (MICE) and
managing a resort in Mersing known as Penyabong Beach Resort. To date, the Exectravel subsidiary has branch
located in Johor and Kuala Lumpur. Nowadays, we need a website as an online business medium. Website is a
business medium that is a duty for every business that is done. In Exectravel's existing management, it only has
offline business. The problems faced by Exectravel management are, not many knows about this company.
Additionally, customers need to come personally to Exectravel to make a package reservation or to get the latest
information supplied by Exectravel. Furthermore, the Exectravel management needs to spend on promoting
Exectravel and the packages offered.
3. PROPOSED SOLUTION The cause of this problem is the lack of a telecommunications system
in Exectravel management. Therefore, a website needs to be developed to deliver faster, accurate and tech-savvy
information. The purpose of this site is because the website is a business medium that every business undertakes.
With this system website, the customer market will be more open as it can be opened anywhere at the fingertips
on the internet. This Exectravel website will make it easy for users to get information about the services provided.

In addition, the details and guidance for the services offered by the organization can be easily and accurately
conveyed. Users can also make reservations online if they are interested in the services and packages offered. This
Exectravel website needs to be designed in user-friendly and easy-to-understand style and can provide useful
information to users. More importantly, communication between two parties - buyers and sellers - is fast and easy.
In addition, with this website, Exectravel management can save the cost of distributing leaflets, posters, posters
and so on.
4. LESSON LEARNED AND CONCLUSION While undergoing industrial training at the Johor
State University's Koperasi Permodalan, I have learnt many things. I also gained a lot of valuable experienced
during 20 weeks of my internship. I learned how to cooperate with others during carrying out duty and how to
be professional as a worker that has to abide all the rule and regulations.
a. New Skills Acquired/ Experienced At Information Technology Department, I am able to play
the role as a technical resource in order to assist users with resolving computer issue. Besides, I also get a
chance to set up and organize IP address appropriately for certain users. Next, I also got a lot of knowledge
of servicing printers, scanners and other office equipment. Not only that, I also learned how to recognize
cable port on switch which are connected to users.
b. Benefit To Company and Student This industrial training are giving a lot of benefit of both
company and students. As students, I am very thankful because I can learn a lot of things in real working
environment. Not only the students can apply all the lesson that they have learn before during the training,
but the student also could get extra knowledge from the workers or staff which they can cooperate with. For
company, the students can help the staff and make their work ease for them. For example, I can contribute
to help the Information Technology Department’s staff to organize technical support for every department.
The project I have done also will make the company more ease to handle their job. Other than that, the
company also can keep a good relationship with university and it will make easier for collaboration in future.
c. Conclusion In conclusion, during one semester undergoing Industrial Training, I have gained a lot of
experience, knowledge and exposure. All the rewards gained have made me aware of increasing self-esteem
to face the ever-increasing challenges of life. Practical is a complement to the learned knowledge or theory.
This is clear with the concept of knowledge and charity, where knowledge learned without practicing it will
disappear and will not give any impression. That is, if we practice without knowledge, there will always be
problems in terms of always changing grip and stand. As long as I am undergoing industrial training, there
are many changes from the learning environment, the environment and the association of fellow colleagues.
He can directly increase his dedication and be rational to myself. I also learned a lot about new things that I
can not learn while at the University such as working in groups, working on skills, thinking creatively and
critically, thinking about logically solving problems, working wisely, working with time. However, there
are some weaknesses that can be improved in the future. So I can conclude that the industrial training
program benefits many students even though there are small disadvantages that make a little bit of trouble,

so that these weaknesses can be improved in the future. The conclusion that I get through this industry
training is that I receive a lot of exposure in this computing world. I am grateful to the National University
of Malaysia for giving their students the opportunity to seek their own experience by conducting Industrial
Training.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT Thank God for His pure grace, I can successfully complete the industrial
training for twenty (20) weeks in Koperasi Permodalan Melayu Negeri Johor (KPMNJ) located at Jalan Segget,
Johor Bahru, Johor starting from 22 August 2017 until 6 January 2018. At the same time, I manage to complete
my industry training report. First of all, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to my Industrial
Supervisor, Puan Nordiana Binti Basarudin for the guidance and encouragement given throughout the course of
this industrial training. She always care about my progress throughout the training at KPMNJ. Cooperation from
all the staff of KPMNJ who gave much guidance about the organization that I am less aware. They taught me a
lot about the importance of group relationships and co-operation in an organization when doing the job. Thanks
also to the staff in the Administration, Membership and Information Technology departments for the guidance
provided for this project and the training of the industry. I would like to appreciate to my parent, family and all
my colleagues for their supports and guides. Finally, I would like to thanks to all participants who help me either
directly or indirectly to accomplish industry training.

Company Background
Koperasi Permodalan Melayu Negeri Johor (KPMNJ) was established in 1965. The cooperative was registered on
March 3, 1966 under the Cooperative Act 1948. Its establishment was on the initiative of several Malaysian
Government officials led by Tan Sri Dato 'Haji Basir bin Ismail who are aware how important Malaysians engage
in the economy to improve their standard of living.
KPMNJ's Objectives
KPMNJ's objective is to raise capital among Malaysians and invest in economics. As such, Malays can unite to
move economically. In return, they will benefit in terms of dividends, bonuses and other benefits provided by
KPMNJ.
KPMNJ Membership
KPMNJ membership is open to all Malaysians aged 18 years and above subject to terms and conditions.
