• Tabiat negatif; Menggigit kuku, berangan, merokok, melepak, bergosip.

SHAMSAZILA BTE SA'ABAN

Page 13: Habits of Mind (tabiat minda)

Bagaimana minda tabiat berfungsi?

SHAMSAZILA BTE SA'ABAN

Page 14: Habits of Mind (tabiat minda)

The 16 Habits of Mind, developed by Prof Art Costa and Dr Bena Kallick

are the characteristics found in independent, self directing learners.

They offer a framework for learners of all ages to decide how they can

behave intelligently when facing many choices, when stuck, when

planning a complex task, when working collaboratively or when needing to

tackle a new challenge.

They provide a framework or compass for students to refer to when

needing to direct the next steps in their learning.

They remove dependency on the teacher and overtime become

internalised, habituated approaches to taking the lead in one's own

learning even when the way forward is not clear or is in unfamiliar territory.

SHAMSAZILA BTE SA'ABAN

"Habits of Mind are the characteristics of what intelligent

people do when they are confronted with problems, the

resolutions of which are not immediately apparent."

Putting the Habits into action

If you want to use the Habits of Mind to change how you think then you have to follow the four steps here. 1. Choose the Habit you want to

work on.

2. What does the Habit LOOK / SOUND / FEEL LIKE?

3. Think of some BEHAVIOURS you can try that will reflect that Habit.

4. DO IT!!

Only when you take action can you change your behavior. This goes for your brain as well
