SAFETY AND LABORATORY PROCEDURE

Jangan sekali-kali makan, & minum semasa bekerja di makmal. Jangan gunakan apa-apa kelengkapan atau peralatan

sebelum anda dibenarkan oleh penyelia anda. Anda diwajibkan untuk memakai baju bengkel dan memakai kasut

yang bertutup penuh. Sandal tidak dibenarkan Jika anda mempunyai rambut panjang, pastikan ia berikat kemas. Pelajar bertanggungjawab untuk melupusan bahan yang tidak

digunakan lagi ke dalam bekas sampah. Peralatan rosak - Jika terdapat peralatan yang gagal

berfungsi, laporkan dengan segera kepada pensyarah ataupembantu pensyarah. Jangansekali-kali cuba untuk membaikiperalatan tersebut.

Matikan semua suis sebelum keluar dari makmal. Bersihkan kawasan kerja anda sebelum meninggalkan makmal. Basuh tangan sebelum meninggalkan makmal dan sebelum makan.

a. Quiz ( minimum 4 ) 20% b. Theory Test ( minimum 1 ) 10% c. Practical Test ( minimum 1 ) 10% d. Practical Work ( minimum 6) 50% e. Assessment Task 10% f. Mini Project (minimum 1)

WHAT IS HANDTOOLS?

A hand tool is a device for performingwork on a material or a physical systemusing only hands.

SAFETY USE OF HANDTOOLS

Hand tools include a wide variety of non-powered devices such as wrenches, pliers,hammers, and screwdrivers. These tools mayseem harmless, but they are the cause of manyinjuries.

The two most common hazards associated withthe use of hand tools are misuse and impropermaintenance.

PLIERS

Function :

• One of commonly used tools in electronics shops• cutting and gripping•To bend, re-position and cut wire • Given their long shape, they are useful for reaching into cavities where cables (or other materials) have become stuck or unreachable to fingers or other means

SIDE CUTTER

•Good cutters are essential tool for component lead cutting and removing insulation prior to soldering or performing.

TWEEZERS

Function :

•Tweezers are tools used for picking up and manipulating objects too small to be easily handled with the human hands.

•They are probably derived from tongs, pincers, or scissors-like pliers used to grab or hold hot objects since the dawn of recorded history.

•In a scientific or medical context they are normally referred to as forceps.

WIRE STRIPPER

This type of wire stripper is used by rotating it around the insulation while applying pressure in order to make a cut around the insulation.

SCREWDRIVER

A screwdriver is a tool for driving screws and rotating other machine elements with the mating drive system.
