FOREWORD

Anjung UniMAP Kuala Lumpur (KL) was established in 2005 at Angkasa Raya Building in Kuala

Lumpur, and it was known before as Anjung KUKUM. As a University’s front desk, its

establishment in the capital city was an important step in making the University known and

visible to all people and communities of Kuala Lumpur and the Lembah Kelang at large.

As a part of regional promotion unit, it is important for Anjung UniMAP KL to introduce and stage

the University’s engineering trademark in an effective way in the city centre of Kuala Lumpur. So

that, the University could also capitalize from its city position to have a direct engagement and

contact with all levels of important national establishments, including government and national

agencies, multinational corporations and industries, business organizations and

entrepreneurships here.

As one of important arms of Chancellery administrative and information unit, Anjung UniMAP KL

serves many administrative and promotional services to the University’s executive officials,

academic schools, departments and staff or other respective industrial associates. Moreover,

Anjung UniMAP KL organizes UniMAP’s short term professional courses, University workshops,

seminars and conferences. In conjunction with these events, Anjung UniMAP KL also involves

in social and promotional activities in and around Kuala Lumpur and klang valley areas, and

parts of central, eastern and southern regions of semenanjung.


THE VICE CHANCELLOR’S MESSAGE

Assalamualaikum w.b.t Salam Ilmu, Keikhlasan, Kecemerlangan UniMAP

It is my pleasure to mention here the role of Anjung UniMAP Kuala Lumpur as part of Chancellery’s administrative unit and office which is based in the heart of capital city of Malaysia. I am certain that the establishment of this unit and its outreach office in the Kuala Lumpur city center, PWTC, has its own special functions. The main functions are very strategic in nature. These functions include Chancellery’s administrative arm and also as to expand University’s promotional linkages, and perhaps engaging industrial organizations or with any potential engineering counterpart in the Lembah Kelang and Kuala Lumpur areas.

As we know, Kuala Lumpur could provide many opportunities to UniMAP to progress such as professional and high levels of engagements, such as governmental and ministerial departments, academic and research institutions. These would also include engagements with industrial and business corporations, human resources and social relations activities, and so on.

Thus, the central position of this Chancellery’s administrative and promotional unit will provide UniMAP’s executive officials and academicians with many kinds of professional connections, research opportunities, and promotional engagements in the fields of engineering, entrepreneurships and culture. As a new engineering University, with such high levels of engagements and linkages; and its direct connections with other governmental institutions, professional bodies and industrial organizations will provide the University many strategic undertakings. These direct engagements and linkages are very important for the University to progress and to move forward.

Alhamdulillah my deepest gratitude to Allah SWT with His permission, Anjung UniMAP KL will be able to highlight the Annual Report of the unit for the year 2014.

It gives me great pleasure to share the milestones achieved by Anjung UniMAP KL. This report gives a glimpse of achievements and activities carried out by Anjung UniMAP KL in the stated year.

From the past years we had observed that the existing activities at Anjung KL had been moving further forward and in its full capacity. In addition, a number of initiatives has been introduced. This annual report will present the detail accounts of the progress and achievements of our activities. Our projects include:

• One-stop info-centre for promoting UniMAP’s academic and professional programs. • To facilitate University’s connections or linkages with industries in Lembah Kelang or

nearby areas. • To facilitate UniMAP’s academic courses and research works at Anjung KL as assigned

by designated schools or departments. • Organising short term professional workshops and courses. • To accommodate University’s meeting spaces for administrative and management

activities or organizational connections in Kuala Lumpur or Lembah Kelang. • Organising and facilitate seminar spaces or meeting facilities for corporate or private

organizations I am certain that Anjung KL will continue to progress towards overcoming all the challenges to progress ahead and will be supported by UniMAP’s higher management officials and various units in the university.

The commitment of the Anjung KL officers and support staffs to make such a significant contribution towards achieving the targets set for 2014 was absolute. I wish to thanks and acknowledge them for making their mark in contributing towards UniMAP success. I look forward to the coming year in full anticipation that the challenges laid out will be tackled with the same enthusiasm and diligence.

1.0 INTRODUCTION

3.0 KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATOR (KPI) 2015

Anjung has set several targets as Key Performances Indicator (KPI) for the year 2015. This target included a few criteria to achieve as follows:

1. Increasing the Number of enrollments from Klang Valley and Southern Area:

2. Professional Career Development Training for staff : 16
