Teamwork When I was working as part of a team for the Transportation sector for Aberdeenshire Council, I was working with 5 other people doing administrative work and being involved in the GO FOR IT Scheme.

Communication Being the captain of my rugby team that won in the University Rugby Sevens in May 2011. I explained tactics to be deployed on the pitch and also had team discussions as well.

Information Technology Took IT as an AS Level and currently use Microsoft Office in all my assignments. Competent at Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint. Also a proficient user of SAGE 50, Sharepoint, Microsoft Dynamics NAV & Oracle. The majority of research for my assignments were done via the internet.

Analytical skills I undertook analysis work on reports and essays in my Economics course at the University of Aberdeen. This helped me to carry out analytical work in the Finance roles I carried out.

Organization I was working part time for Aberdeenshire Council and Margaret Blackwood during term time whilst I was in university.

WORKING EXPERIENCE

January 2016 – Nov 2016 Finance Business Partner (Food Standards Scotland)- Temporary

I worked closely with line managers to achieve shared organisational objectives and helped with designing and implementing systems and processes that support strategic business aims. I did cost control for the branches I supported (Communications & Marketing,

Enforcement Delivery, Food Crime Unit and Audit). I ensured financial information for the branches are up to date by the use of financial

processes and analysis. I was also a proficient user of ORACLE system as this was used to enter financial

information and process accruals for Month End and Year End financial reports.

April 2015 – Dec 2015 Global Finance Assistant (activpayroll Ltd)- Permanent

I worked within Finance Team with the day-to-day processing and control of the accounting systems (Microsoft Dynamics NAV)

I also handled Global Partner payroll purchase invoices and the sales invoices of our Global Customers. This included credit control on a regular basis and payment aollocations to the relevant account details.

My goal was to ensure strong financial controls to provide accurate and timely management and financial information and deliver good customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

March 2015 – April 2015 Cost & Procurement Controller (Cortez Subsea Ltd)- Permanent

After completing my 12 month programme as a Trainee Cost & Procurement Controller, I became a fully qualified employee in this position.

July 2013- March 2015 Trainee Cost & Procurement Controller (Cortez Subsea Ltd)- Permanent

Reporting to the Operations Director of the company, I was responsible for monitoring the cost & revenue report for offshore projects.

Within the procurement department of the company, I dealt with the purchase of resources required for projects and company overheads.

I also dealt with the supplier evaluation and approval in accordance with QMS (Quality Management System) for the Sharepoint System.

I interfaced with the Projects, Finance and Contracts team to ensure a coordinated level of monthly reporting and general/administrative duties as required.

I used SAGE to enter Invoices of the suppliers onto the system, processing payment runs and assist the Management Accountant with Bank Reconciliations & Trial Balances for month end reports.

I also assisted with the processing of VAT & tax returns with the Financial Controller & the Management Accountant.

August 2012- July 2013 Administrator - JDRF (c/o Subsea 7) - Temporary to Fixed

Contract Work

I worked as an administrator at the JDRF office based at Subsea 7. I carried out a range of tasks which included data entry for the donors, updating the

finance file in relation to donations, mailing and general administrative work. I was heavily involved in the JDRF WALK TO CURE DIABETES 2012 in

Aberdeen, Shetland in 2013, and the Shanghai Balls in Aberdeen and Edinburgh. I also handled communication from oil and gas companies in Aberdeen as they are

heavily involved with the foundation.

August-August 2012 Receptionist - Sodexo (Conoco Phillips) - Temporary

I carried out a range of duties such as administrative work, dealing with deliveries, organising temporary work passes for the employees and employees of other oil and gas companies.

I was responsible for logging in visitors onto the pass book created in Microsoft Excel.

Furthermore, I also dealt with the call enquiries and the transfer of calls between employees within the departments of the Aberdeen office, oil platforms and the employees located in the worldwide offices.

I further developed my organisation skills by carrying out different tasks at the same time and I also worked with a colleague who helped to improve my communication and team work contribution.

July- July 2012 Receptionist - Aramark (Canadian Natural Resources) – Temp.

I carried out a range of duties such as administrative work, call enquiries, delivery signature, dealing with deliveries, the transfer of calls within the departments in the Aberdeen office, oil platforms and worldwide offices.

I ensured that the visitors would sign onto the log book before giving out either a temporary or visitors pass I would inform the individual that their guests have arrived.

August – October 2011 Receptionist (Pizza Hut Delivery) -Temporary

I dealt with orders, phone call orders and enquiries. I also worked as kitchen support to provide help in case of emergency as there were

huge volumes of orders coming through. I developed business awareness and learnt the importance of good management,

branding and marketing.

July-July 2011 Administration Assistant (AREG) -Temporary

This involved helping to move documents from the St. Nicholas House to the Marischal Building which opened that summer.

I also had to arrange the documents in the systematic order as requested.

I had to assist with the archiving of documents for the oil and gas sector and also for the environmental consultant, BMT Cordah.

June 2008 Housing Assistant- Margaret Blackwood Housing Association (Temporary)

I had to contact the tenants and the main office branch in Edinburgh in case there were problems or anomalies encountered with the tenants.

I had to do data entry to amend any errors and also update the tenants’ application forms.

I also covered for the Housing Officer whilst she was out of office as she had to visit tenants regarding enquiries.

March - August 2008 WPO/Clerical Assistant- Aberdeenshire Council (Temporary)

I carried out data entry and writing reports based on school congestion around Aberdeenshire.

I was involved in the GO FOR IT scheme which is a year round walking and cycling promotional project set up by the council which is developed to help pupils to stay fit and reduce school gate congestion.

I also contacted the sponsors such as amusement parks, activity centres to agree to this scheme.

June-September 2007 Administrative Assistant-Agria Machinery and Services Limited (Temporary)

I worked for family owned business that specialises in the assembly and distribution of construction machinery and equipment and provides after sales service.

Duties included typing letters, preparing envelopes for letters, filing the documents, delivering letters to the customers and dealing with telephone enquiries.

I also carried out the assembling of the equipment for the customer as a support.

Aberdeenshire Rugby Also played rugby for the University of Aberdeen. Currently a member of the Aberdeenshire Rugby Club 1XV/2XV.

Athletics Team Was an active member of my school’s Athletics team, competing in discus. Awarded a major games sports tie and an athletics half colour tie in acknowledgment of my dedication.
