1.0 INTRODUCTION:D-MULTISERVE MARINE SERVICES SDN BHD wishes to utilize the existing Jetty No: 2 for lifting of steel components onto marine vessel. The existing was built way before year 2000 and structural assessment is required to determine the integrity.

Assessment is required due to a heavier lifting crane and larger vessel will be employed for new jetty operation.

2.0 PROJECT:The project is the proposed loading of steel components to marine vessel using existing Jetty No: 2, Labuan Port, Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan, Malaysia.3.0 SCOPES OF ASSESSMENT:The scopes of assessment shall be as follows:

1. Visual inspection on existing structure.2. Structural assessment of 250 T lifting crane on the Jetty No: 2.3. Structural assessment of 2000 DWT marine vessel berthing at Jetty No: 2.

4.0 SITE LOCATION:The site is located on Rancha Rancha Industrial Estate, nearing to Jalan Patau Patau, Labuan.5.0 ACCESS TO SITE:These is one access to proposed site:

1. Via 100 ft road reserve Jalan Patau Patau, Labuan.

6.0 EXISTING JETTY DRAWINGS:There are existing JKR design and construction drawings for this jetty. One Set of JKR details drawings are attached for your easy reference.7.0 VISUAL ASSESSMENT:7.1 INSPECTION SCHEDULEVisual inspection was conducted by IR Foong Tong Weng on 7th September, 10am in the morning

The site inspection was carried in the present of representative from M/S D-MULTISERVE MARINE SERVICES SDN BHD and MS Siah from Perunding Legarleon Sdn Bhd

The inspection was completed on 11.00am.

7.2 VISUAL INSPECTION FINDINGS1. CONNECTING LINK BRIDGE

The link bridge is in good condition, no visible structural cracking, spalling off concrete, corrosion on concrete deck being detected.

2. CONTACT PIER

The contact pier is in good condition, no visible structural cracking, spalling off concrete, corrosion on concrete deck being detected.

3. MARINE FENDER SYSTEM

The fender system is in good working condition, no visible structural degradation, bolt shear, spalling off concrete at connection being observed.

4. BOLLARD FOR MOORING

The bollards are in good working condition, no visible structural degradation, bolt shear, spalling off concrete at connection being observed.

5. FOUNDATION PILING

The foundations are good condition, coral growth and colourisation up to HWL.

8.0 2000 DWT VESSEL BERTHING / MOORING ASSESSMENT:8.1 DATA IN ASSESSMENTWe assumed the following data in our berthing simulation:

Draft = 3m Max. L = 50m, Beam B = 15m, Velocity of berth Vb = 0.2ms-1.

8.2 STAADPRO SIMULATIONWe carried out STAADPRO simulation on the followings:

1. CASE 1

Full scale modeling with horizontal berthing force applying inward along the berthing beam. 2. CASE 2

Full scale modeling with horizontal mooring force of 100kN applying outward along the berthing beam.

9.0 250 Tonnes LIFTING CRANES OPERATING ON JETTY NO: 2

9.1 DATA USED IN ASSESSMENTFor 250 T lifting crane, we use 55kN out rigger force in our computation.

9.2 STAADPRO SIMULATIONWe carried out STAADPRO simulation on the followings:

1. Full scale modeling with vertical force applying on pier deck.9.3 PUNCHING SHEARWe carried punching shear loading calculation; the punching shear capacity is adequate.10.0 CONCLUSION FOR PROFESSIONALS ASSESSMENT:10.1 VISUAL INSPECTION FINDINGSThe jetty is visually intact.

10.22000 DWT VESSEL BERTHING / MOORING ASSESSMENTThe existing Jetty No: 2 is structural adequate for berthing and mooring

10.3 250 Tonnes LIFTING CRANES OPERATING ON JETTY NO: 2

The existing Jetty No: 2 is structural adequate for 250T working operating for loading and unloading.
